If you'll fit in at Deluxe resort? I am now after reading a very long thread on the resort...ha ha.. if nothing else 2 days at Deluxe will be an adventure in and of itself!

Hmmmmm? A $500 dollar room that we are never in or an $80 room that we are never in. Hopefully I'm never rich enough to mess up that math. POP here we come, save us a room in the riff raff years with a view of the cement pond. Wooho!

our balcony at the poly was about 2 ft deep and 10 ft wide... the "balcony" at the beach club was a mere 2 ft deep by 4 ft maybe, it was enough for one person to stand one hahaha

Thanks for posting this! We were booked in BC and since DH and I are big balcony people, I was trying to explain what it would be like if we didn't get a true full balcony. This pretty much says it all. We switched to Yacht Club where our odds for a balcony are far better.

This is all frame of mind. If you convince yourself you don't belong, you're going to feel out of place. The reality- your $ is as green as the next guy's and if you have the $ to stay deluxe and it's an expense you feel is worthwhile to you and your family (for whatever reason)...you fit in...you just have to believe it. It's the same thing with fine dining, high end stores, etc.

People stay at all different level resorts for a variety of reasons and there is no universal right or wrong...nor is there one kind of person who should or shouldn't stay at the various resort levels.

They're all hotels. Everyone fits in everywhere. The deluxe hotels are better, so if you can easily afford them then you should stay there. I wouldn't go into debt, steal from the kids' college fund or save up forever to stay there, though. They aren't all that.

I would love the Polynesian and have debated staying there....it's just I am so comfortable with POFQ....it's literally become like a vacation home...only place I really love to go. And it's not even that it's super nice...just comfortable. And relaxed...that's the big thing.

that was our thoughts last year.. and it worked.. this year we have less people ( 7 instead of 22)and will be enjoying the resorts more..so we are treating ourselves to a few days in the Deluxe..and by not fitting in I meant I am not the most refined person.. my kids are normal ( well maybe not normal) kids and I don't know people are gonna notice..LOL

You'll be fine! Disney hotels are a lot less formal than non-Disney, and they're holiday hotels, not big city % stars. Have a great holiday

Don't you worry about all that. It's all just people surrounded by a bunch of "stuff" that makes it fancy.

That wouldn't fly for me. I'd keep banging my arm as I raised the beer.
Even worse, some of the Poly rooms don't even have balconies. Pretty sad for a Deluxe.
Won't find me in those rooms.
