Ever have this feeling?

Before I arrive to WDW I think, "I have plenty of time to see all of the parks," this vacation will be relaxing. As soon as I get there, I'm super excited to "get going" right away. The first 2 or 3 days are adrenaline filled, but slowly the pain wears into my feet & my tolerance for other "guests" goes down. That's typical.

My question is, tell me if you are like this. When I get to that "tired, not as excited point" I think, "I'm going to spend more time at the hotel & lounge around the pool." While I'm "lounging" all I can think about is getting to the parks. I feel like I'm missing out & all of these neat things are waiting for me. As soon as I get to the parks, after a while, I feel like I just want to go back to my room & relax or hang out, swim, eat, etc. It's a vicious cycle! :p

With me I have to spend as much time in the parks as I can. It's go-go-go. Even if I see everything once, I need to see it again. I can relax when I'm home or once the parks closes for the night.

Not really the same feeling, but the first days are awsome because I think "I still have 4 more days of this" after the first night. Then about halfway through, I go "awww All I have is 1 or 2 days left then its back to real world" :(

LOL...I can relate to all of these feelings. I agree, it's a vicious cycle that never ceases to exist no matter how many times I go to Disney World. I can't believe I actually fool myself into believing I can spend a day at the hotel relaxing or going to DTD. I'm going in two weeks with my brother and grandma. I'm kind of glad she's going so maybe it will prevent this feeling from happening. We're going to have to take it easy in the parks because I know she will get tired quick. Also, we're going for a week and we're spending every other day in a park, and going to DTD in between.

We have always FORCED ourselves to take an afternoon rest. We never wanted to leave to do it, but once we were poolside or in the room, a nap came very easily. I think it helped prevent that deep fatigue. Still, by day 7, we're pretty exhausted. Our next trip is 2006. The kids are all old enough not to need that afternoon break now. I'm so afraid we'll be tempted to skip the break and have exactly what you describe happen.

My husband I look forward to our afternoon pool and cocktail time. It's one of the things we end up missing the most. We usually head out early to the parks, then after a late lunch we head back to the hotel. Then we go back to a park (or not) for dinner or one of the shows.

We have also been very lucky the past couple of years and been able to enjoy 9 days at the parks. This laid back schedule would not be that easy if we only have 5 or 6 six days.

On short trips of 5 or less days duration, we go non-stop. On longer trips we try and schedule a "hotel pool fun" day somewhere in the middle. We sleep in, swim, shop, rent water mice, lounge, and then hit Fantasia Gardens for mini-golf at night. This is a great recharge for the rest of the trip.

This is why I overplan all my trips. I plan them in a way where I'll have a couple packed days followed by a rest day. This way I don't overexert myself halfway through the trip!

Since I've been to the parks so many things, it's easier for me to allow myself time to go and relax beside the pools. I've never really had any trouble with other guests in the theme park, the worst that happens to me is the Florida heat gets to me. It feels nasty to walk around sweaty.

I'm A "Go Go Go" Girl

I'm excited the entire time I'm there. I'm not really about relaxing, but when I am I also think about all the fun I'd be having at the parks. It's rare to see me napping by a pool on a lawn chair. I'm a "go go go!!" kind of person. All energy when I'm on vacation, but dead tired when I'm at home LOL!

I always get that feeling!! When I get to Florida, I cannot wait to get into the parks.. After a few hours..mix in sun, heat, tired feet, and sweat..and I am ready to go back to the hotle, and into the pool!!
Once I get back to the hotel, and into the pool, all I can think about is all the excitment I am missing in the parks!! What I usually do, to stave off this feeling is take a break mid-day!!

We usually plan to come back to the resort sometime in the middle of the day to relax for a little bit and get out the blistering sun during the hotest part of the day and then come back out later in the afternoon when the crowds start to break a little bit. Not to mention there is nothing cooler than riding test track at twilght and then finding a nice spot for the fireworks, not to mention at least at the resorts I'll get a free soda and not have to a buck something for one with my french fries for lunch, lol.

i used to get this feeling until i realized, i would return. that i guess is the advantage of livin within an hour of wdw. u never get sick of it, tourists arent bad, and i can go anytime i want. woohoo, just go to epcot for sushi (i have done this) and go to mk just to go on one ride. yes this is a common practice for me and my family.

I am a total "keep moving" type of girl. I cannot stand to stay still on my vacations! I do feel that if I take a break I am missing time at the parks. I have never taken a break in my six years of going there. I have no patience, so by the third day, I am ready to throw all the strollers into 7 seas lagoon. My feet hurt and I am usually burned within 1 hour of our first day--even with super high SPF; I always want to keep going. I think it is some kind of weird Disney torture ritual! You gotta love it, though!

I don't get that feeling, in fact its the complete opposite for me and my wife. We get there and we're just about jumping off the walls until the park opens then once we leave its "Go Time" from there. We only come back to the room to change and to drop off swag then its back out for some more. If anything at the end of the trip we have the "We really should have taken some time to explore the resorts some more" feeling.

If I go in September I spend about 2 hours at the Hotel in the afternoon. I get lunch hand by the pool or take a boat out. In Other times of year I spend the whole day in the park.

Daylight hours are for "doing" the parks, when it goes dark its time to rest. Well thats the way we enjoy all that WDW has to offer, especially as we can only get there about once every two - three years
