People,

Tried so hard keeping my eye out for an opening for a seating at O'Hana, but it seems impossible. I have no problem finding openings for so many other restaurants, but forget OHana. Anyone know why? Is there some kind of hyper demand for that restaurant? Any tips appreciated.

When is your trip? How many people are you looking for?
I’ve had good luck with Touringplans reservation finder.
But also, check the day before/day of. I’ve been looking randomly and have seen tons of availability with short notice. Space220, CRT, ‘Ohana, as well as tons of others.

Yes Ohana has always been a very in demand restaurant and getting a reservation is hard to do. Just keep looking several times a day on the MDE app and you might get lucky.

I couldn't get any reservations for my early December 4-day trip and I didn't get to book early due to staying in Orlando for a work convention. I just tried each day and eventually I got the reservations I wanted for the desired times at the Brown Derby for lunch, Beaches & Cream for dinner, and Steakhouse 71 for lunch. I even saw some hard to get ones like Sci-Fi Diner, Space 220, and O'hana showing up during my trip.

We have had trips where ADRs fall together and we get everything we want and others where one or two spots are almost impossible to get when we wanted them. The variable has been the time of year, the crowd levels at the time and the popularity or newness of a place. When we’ve had difficulty we just keep trying multiple times a day hoping something opens up. In all our trips there has been only twice when we had to substitute a restaurant with ones less desired.

We went for 5 days in December, and I was ready the moment ADRs opened up for days 61-65 using the "60 +10" rule. No Ohana availability at all, no Space 220 availability at all, most of what we wanted was nothing unavailable.

This is just another reason why we won't be going back to Disney anytime soon.
