I'm getting ready to go back to work for the mouse, and while I'm there I want to audition for Streetmosphere, just wondering if anyone has ever been through this process, or knows someone who has. Thanks!

If I'm not mistaken, isn't Streetmosphere Equitity? (SP) If so, wouldn't an outside of Disney audition be required? I don't know for sure...just wanted to through that idea out. Good luck either way!

Streetmosphere is covered under Actor's Equity. If you are interested in auditioning for Streetmo, you simply go to the WDW Equity audition. There are no outside auditions required.

do you know what all you go through for an audition, and about how many people audition each month, i mean is it more than 10, more than 50, that kind of ballpark figure...

I've done 4 auditions for WDW, they won't be holding any until Jan. as far as an open call, but check their audition web site (I think you can get there from www.disneycareers.com). They're usually held on the 3rd Friday of every month (except December).

Get there VERY early to sign in, like 7 AM or so, b/c they go in the order of sign-in. Non-equity (non-professional) starts around 1 PM, but I suggest getting back around 11:30-12 and hanging out.

If you're planning to audition for Streetmo, having a comedic monologue (about 1 min) long, and a song (16 bars - sheet music only). If you're up for strictly acting then have 2 contrasting monologues, or 2 contrasting songs if you're going for a pure singing role. They could cut you off mid-song/speech; it's nothing personal...there are hundreds (yes, hundreds) of people they have to see. You can put your interests (for a specific role) on your resume, but don't limit yourself.

If they're interested and there's an opening they think you'd fit into, you'll get a call back at the end of the audition. If you don't, don't take it personally. I didn't get one but I know I did my best. It depends on what roles are open (which is determined by what contracts are expiring) and where they can visualize you. Oh, be sure to have a recent picture and (acting) resume. You don't need a professional headshot--but if you want one that looks semi-professional, take a B&W pic of yourself and make it into an 8x10, and staple your resume on the back. Unless you plan to take up acting as a career, don't waste the $ on professional pictures and copies.

The most important thing -- keep trying! Even if you don't get a call back the first time, go for another audition...and another! Remember to make eye contact and smile, you're on stage from the second you walk into the room until you leave, not just when you're performing. Break a leg!

I've never Auditioned for Disney Theme Park enertainment but I can tell you that it is under Equity.
However I think, think, that the Disney Parks auditions are open call auditions. which means there will be alot of people there. ALOT. what it also means is that if you book a job with them you will probably get your Equity card and be elligable to work for Union only shows.

Check out www.backstage.com Iv'e seen Casting Calls for Disney Entertainment alot on both their website as well as their print edition. both of which require a monthly subscription. (the online one is cheaper and updates more often. I have the print edition as well but i always get it late, and i hardly look at it anymore)
