Disneyland Paris Resort posted its 1H2005 fiscal results today. In summary, attendance was up 1%, theme park revenues were up 7%, hotel occupany was up 2% to 79.9%. Despite that, hotel and Disney Village revenue were down 1%. Total attendance was 5.7 million vs 5.6 million prior year (again, 1H numbers)

IMO, it will be interesting to see how full year results look, with SM:M2 factored in. I've always said Disneyland Paris is the most beautiful Magic Kingdom of all and it deserves to shine and succeed. If only they hadn't been so darn cheap on WDSP!

They always blame the hotels for their woes but 80 per cent occupancy rate is excellent and rivals WDW. With that number of "heads in beds" you'd think the hotels would be making money with the high margins that hotels have.

The average a guest spends per day on admission, food and merchandise is 42 euros, or what, about 50 bucks? This seems very low. Wouldn't that just cover the cost of the ticket?

spending is higher when we would know how much Disney calculates a themepark tickets costs in a packaga with hotels... is it 10 euro for a day? 30 euro?

It did say on their website that they changed the allocation this year. Still, a one day ticket is 36 euros. Per capita spending is 42 euros. That's only 6 euros on food and merchandise, so obviously the average ticket price must be much lower.

At the American parks, Disney revenue last year was about 2.5 billion for both admission and food and merchandise, meaning that people tend to spend as much on f & m as they paid to get in. Using that as a guide, the average ticket price for DLP would be 21 euros, quite a bit below the one day price.
