ESTA

This will only be of interest, if any, to non US members. I just applied for my ESTA and there were questions that definitely weren't there before, or at least I don't remember them from my last application 4 years ago. They wanted to know if I was employed or ever been employed and why does that have anything to do with anything. I don't recall them asking for my parents names on previous applications, why do they need to know that now? I actually thought I was on a spoof site. And for the first time ever I'm having my application reviewed, it's normally gone through with no problem. I'm quite worried now.

They've definitely been on there for my last two applications, in 2019 and then 2021. You have nothing to worry about - these questions were brought in under the previous US Government along with asking for your social media handles.

It says it's getting reviewed but you normally get an email back within an hour or so to say there's been a status change, which will say it's been approved when you log in.

You'll be fine :)

I panicked over nothing. I definitely do not recall asking my employment details or parent's details before, I think I last applied in 2017. It took three hour, but, it did come through, as one of the world's most boring people I would have been surprised if it hadn't been approved. I've had a couple of quite stressful weeks in the real world and if it isn't going tickety boo with my Disney planning I start to panic.
