For those of you that didn't know, the excellent series of Eragon is being currently made into a movie, the first installment being released on December 15th.

*is really hoping the movie does the book justice....*

Thanks for the pointer. I recently picked this book up when killing time waiting to go home but stuck in the midst of a bomb alert.

A fairly enjoyable, if undemanding read. The film looks like it will have promise. Quite surprised to see an unknown English lad in the lead. I'd have pictured the studios demanding an American, or some fly by night teeny pop star to front the film for box office value.

It does have some good names in the rest of the cast - Jeremy Irons, John Malkovich, Robert Carlisle and Alun Armstrong

Wow, that looks pretty cool. Very Lord of the Rings-like.

Yes, I think it has the potential to be a very good movie besides, Jeremy Irons always does a good job, especially in this sort of role.

The plot reminds me of that movie where Sean Connery played the voice of a dragon. And Malkovich looks a lot like Billy Joel. If it has a running time of three hours, count me out for sure.
