If you're really hardcore about it, I suppose it might be neat. As a casual vacationer, I'd have no business carrying something like that. I can produce 'close enough' results handheld and letting Photoshop do the stitching.

I read a review about this in Shutterbug (I think) last month. Especially great if someone does a lot of landscapes/cityscapes and is looking to create truly enormous pictures.
