nothing's been announced yet, but I'll guess some sort of ceremony will be done

I hope there is going to be some sort of celebration for at least one day... oooooo maybe they will release a LE pin for the 20th anniversary. I better keep my eyes and ears on the lookout for some news about that! :lookaroun :)

Why do you assume nothing will be done?

Even though they are not "celebrating" it they have produced 30th Anniversary Magic Kingdom Merchandise.

They had a small ceremony, and had things stuff for sell durring the 10th Anniversary of the Disney/MGM Studios, back in 1999.

They even had some 1st Anniversary Animal Kingdom stuff the same year.

SO it may not be some Worldwide televised event. But they will at least acknowledged that it occurring, and sell T-Shirts.

There won't be a celebration because the 100 Years celebration will still be going on. You will probably see merchandise around the park like we saw with the WDW 30th anniversary.

I at least hope they have some sort of event in 2007 for it's 25th birthday, with figment as its symbol or icon, not some part of sorcerer mickey. (his shoe, or tail, maybe?)

Maybe a new hotel will be announced? Wasn't there always talk of building an in park hotel?

I'd love to see a Future World equivalent of Tokyo DisneySeas Hotel Miracosta, but WDW really needs to hold off on new resort development for at least a few years, IMHO. Pop Century will represent a rather large number of new rooms, and the theme parks are in greater need of additions and improvements. Besides, French Quarter is just now ready to reopen, and the DI Villas remain closed.

I don't think there will ever be enough of the nicer (deluxe) resorts right now, though. The animal kingdom lodge is almost always full. If they can continuie to make hotels that provide a really cool experience that you can't get hardly anywhere else like that, they could fill the rooms. (Im thinking along the lines of the The Living Seas Underwater Resort ):D

Underwater...that would probably cost a lot. I would also expect rooms would cost a fortune. Look for resort development to be near Wide World of Sports, and this will probably be the area for the next big attraction (water park or theme park)
