EPCOT World Showcase - New Country Ideas

Hello everybody! This topic has been on my mind for quite some time now, and I've finally found a place to post it. I feel like the World Showcase in EPCOT needs some more countries. There were many sections of land meant for housing new pavilions, but most of them are going unused at the moment. So I began brainstorming on what countries could fill up these empty spaces. If you have any ideas, feel free to share them in the comments/replies section!

My Ideas:

- Spain

-Russia

-Tanzania or Kenya (replaces the African Outpost)

- Egypt

- Australia

- India

- Thailand

- Brazil

- Greece

Do to turmoil and hot topic issues, neither Russia or Egypt will happen. Africa would probably be an amalgam of the continent. Australia? Snooze. Thailand is represented in AK (under "Asia") and there's already China and Japan. Brazil is actually the next country, if the current rumors are true. Spain also has the nod for the next one. Greece is broke - they can't eve sponsor their own citizens.

You have some good points. This was simply a post created to share ideas and discuss possibilities.

I wonder if there would be a way to have the Caribbean countries represented as a group. That would be interesting I think.

If we need more industrial countries, maybe Netherlands, Sweden or Finland would be good choices, seeing that they always rated as the most peaceful and freest countries.

Personally I would like to see Egypt, so rich with history and seems to be a most beautiful country. I understand the issues that currently plague the country that would make it hard to be represented though.

I'll apologize for all the "more experienced" posters that will come on this thread and try and rain on your parade. They have nothing better to do.

I would love to see a Polynesian themed land with Moana emphasized. Greece with gyro and Hercules would be amazing as well (to be honest I think WDW needs more Hercules). India would be awesome, but first they would need to make an Indian themed movie. Australia would be pretty interesting as well. Brazil is coming supposedly, along with Spain following soon after. I'd love a modern Korean themed pavilion as well.

Id love some new additions to world showcase especially if it rebalances the mix away from western europe to a more global representation. Maybe like the plans for westcot in California having regional pavilions rather than single countries would be a tood way to go. When i went to the Milan expo there was a mix of single nation and regional pavilions which worked really well. Id love to see

Polynesia- could have great food, a luau restaurant and lts of ideas for great attractions from a moana ride to a sufing water ride or volcano coaster

India. The taj mahal is a natural for epcot as is an Indian restaurant, ive always wanted to see a jungle book version of splash mountain and a bollywood musical dark ride would be great.

Carribean - again a mix of carribean nations would be a nice addition maybe a barbecue or fish fry restaurant marketplace shopping and a boat ride or calypso music animatronic or large theatre style show like the mermaid one in tokyo.

Thailand / south east asia - a more exotic asian nation would be a great addition, World Showcase’s adventureland. Jungle theming with an asian temple, restaurant etc maybe a jungle coaster or even Indiana jones adventure if we go the ip route.

I know that none of the above are likely but its fun to dream

If EPCOT were going to expand World Showcase and build five more pavilions, these would be my Top 5 picks:


New Zealand
The Philippines
Jamaica
Ireland
Greece

Russia, Peru or possibly Egypt would probably be next on my list after those initial 5.


I really feel like Animal Kingdom needs a New Zealand/Australia/Tasmania area. That region is so beautiful and full of all kinds of unique critters and animals. Just seems like a big opportunity being wasted that they have not included that region in that park up to this point. But a pavilion in World Showcase would be the next best thing.

Make it so, Disney!

In my opinion, I feel the top four pavilions would be Australia, Brazil, India and Spain. Where do you think each of these would specifically be located within the WS area? (please reply if possible)

First off, Thailand are no where near the Himalayas, that would be Nepal and India. And second, China and Japan represent the South East and Far East respectively. And since we have the United States, Canada, and Mexico representing North America, it wouldn’t be too far out to feature another East Asian country.

Here are, in my opinion, the two best contenders for if we were to get a new World Showcase pavilion-
  1. Brazil- This would have a Brazilian Steakhouse, and some rumors have been pointing to Brazil.
  2. India- This would have a Massive, E-ticket boat ride (Similar to SDL's pirates) and multiple eateries. Jungle Book would be a good idea.
