Epcot to MGM?

Hmm... this is just a thought I had and figured I'd get some suggestions...

When we go to WDW in January, we will be going to Epcot one day and then hopping over to MGM. When we usually do this, we take the boat from Boardwalk. It seems to be the quickest.

However this time we will be traveling with a first-timer. Do you recommend taking the Monorail to a resort and then to MGM? A Monorail ride is always nice for a first-timer, but I think it would seem like a waste of time to take the Monorail all over the place just to get to MGM when there is a quicker route and you are pressed for time to begin with. (That was a mouthful)

We could always jump on the Monorail from MK for a little ride, anyways.

What would everyone suggest?

Will you only be at WDW for a single day? I would not waste park time riding the monorail. The only way I can see doing that would be to start your day at the TTC and ride the monorail to Epcot. Otherwise it will take way too long. Yes riding the monorail is fun but not if you don't need to get to its destination.

With only three days, I would stick with the quickest route. If you are doing a MK to Epcot or vice versa, then the monorail ride would make more sense, but I figure you would have already thought of that.

I would probably schedule a monorail run when at MK...Take the first timer on a MK resort run just so they could go through the CR.

Same here, besides the view between MGM and Epot on the boat is really nice. We got off at Y&B to walk and show our friends. (So this year we are staying at Beach Club) You can also go over to boardwalk and grab a bite thre.

You can easily ride the monorail on your MK day when it is all over. Circling Seven Seas and all the illuminated infrastructure is beautiful and memorable.

And tkaing the FriendShip boat from Epcot to MGM is also a great trip during the day. I still think that is the prettiest Resort area, especially from the water.

Enjoy your trip, I can't wait for mine either.

I think that with a first timer, you need all of the time that you can get so I wouldn't go out of your way just to ride the monorail. Plus, the monorail ride to the MK is much more "magical" than the one to Epcot.

I've always wanted to walk from Epcot to MGM, but I've just never got around to it. I think I'll go out of my way to do it this trip.
