Epcot or MK on a Saturday?

I am working on my itenerary for my upcoming October trip and I am trying to decide whether to do Epcot on Wednesday and MK on Saturday or vice versa. I have heard that the parks can be more crowded on weekends because of locals. If this is the case, which park do you think would be better to do on Saturday (Oct. 27).....Epcot or MK? Or does it really not matter? And would Epcot be less crowded Saturday morning since it has EMH the night before?

I guess we're one of very few families that don't care about the crowds (I will admit - we have park hopper tickets). We just go where we want to each day and not care about how crowded it is or not ; our theory is that waiting for rides is part of WDW. Although, if MK were extremely crowded, we would go to a different park.

Anywho - to get back to your question - we are also going in October. Rather than "waste" a days ticket when we land on Friday, we are going to DTD (the first time for all of us). It is tradition for us to begin at the MK, so that is what we are going to do on Saturday. Like I said, we really don't care if it's crowded - we get there at rope drop (we are very early risers). And, if it gets too crowded by lunchtime - off to EPCOT we go (our fav park!).

Have a great trip!!!

PS - I always heard that MK was the most crowded on Mondays?!?

MK is extremely crowded on Saturdays. we went in at rope drop and got out of there at noon. couldnt stand it. the lines were getting terrible and you could hardly move around. the locals come in on weekends. if theres a nite EMH at Epcot the nite before I would go there. those people should be sleeping in or over at MK.

According to the unofficial guide Saturday is one of the best days at MK because it is a travel day for most people. We are going on our first day to MK and it is Sat. in June.

Crowds at MK can be hellish on Saturdays, especially in the middle part of the day. They tend to taper off in the evening. If you decide to go to MK, I'd go early at rope drop, stay until about noon, then leave for awhile. I'd then take a break, and return about 6. That gives you time to visit a few more attractions, then seen Spectro and Wishes.

During my last visit two weeks ago the crowds were MUCH smaller on the weekends, believe it or not. We did Epcot on Saturday and MK on Sunday. We thought a lot of people were probably traveling over the weekend causing the crowds to be smaller. It picked up quite a bit more during the week - with Monday being the worst (we split that day in DAK and MK) We spent at least a little bit of the day in MK on Sunday, Monday, Thursday and Friday. That week, Sunday was by far the least crowded of those days.

I would do Epcot on Saturday. From past experience MK is very busy on Saturday's and Sunday's. Went on a Sunday before and will not plan to do that again. Enjoy your trip!

With Epcot being so much larger, it is definately the clear choice. But if you have a park hopper, you can certainly give MK a try. I think the crowds there may become very prohibitive.

I would do Epcot on Saturday and MK on Wed...I've heard that the middle of the week is the better time to do MK. Since most people hit that their first day there...which is usually during the weekend or in the beginning of the week.

Keep in mind that October is fall break time. A couple of years ago, this was a quiet time to visit the parks. No longer. Weekends are packed. Mid-week is only slightly better. Also factor in the Food & Wine Festival. The up-side: the weather is gorgeous!!!

It's really gonna depend on the EMH schedule for the week.

*looks it up*

Unofficial Guide's touring plans predict 7's on the Saturdays and 6's on the Wednesdays for crowds, with MK and EP being the best park for either day. So, taking that at face value, Wednesday at MK seems the best bet.

I'd do MK on Wednesday and head to EPCOT on Saturday; of course, if you're getting park-hoppers, you can always try one and then hop to the other. Wherever you go, though, ARRIVE EARLY!

Have a great trip!
