Ye old site, said the EPCOT monorail was coming back soon. Then said, just kidding. Does anyone have some news on this?

No
I believe what happened was that the EPCOT monorail line has had some sporadic testing, and today social distancing markers were set up on the ramp, so people assumed that meant the monorail was opening to EPCOT. I think the EPCOT queue will be used as an extended queue for the Express MK line.

Thanks, that’s what I gathered as well. I was looking for any inside scoop. The article said the EPCOT monorail will open when the pandemic subsides. But that’s a little too hearsay for me. Anyone know anymore?

I’ve heard everything from it will open when park hopping starts to when social distancing subsides. No clue.

i have also heard the construction at impact is creating a conflict.

Your first mistake is taking anything said at that other site seriously. Unscrupulous didn't get his loving nickname for no reason.

Consider the low occupancy at the monorail resorts, one of those is essentially shut down (Poly), Contemporary is going under for refurb, and GF doesn't have all inventory online. So there is no reason to run it. With limited park hopping and minimal demand for service to Epcot, there is no reason to run it until things pick up.

The issue right now is:

1) not enough cast is back to operate the line; requires 30 Cast all together

2) they need as much capacity as possible on MK lines to reduce wait times

3) would put extra strain on resort line with people going to TTC to transfer.

most likely won’t be back till capacity can be increased in the trains
