Epcot Monorail Station Design

Just curious if anyone knows the original plans/expansion design for the Epcot monorail station. I’ve heard it was designed for another line - but I just can’t figure out the layout looking at it. The long walkway area below the load/unload platform is very overbuilt but clearance is pretty low.

Figured someone on here would have a better idea or an original design plan.

Btw - getting stuck on Nemo for 20+ minutes today hearing the same 30s loop of singing from the very end was brutal lol.

I’ve tried to figure that one out as well... it’s a shame the monorail never got expanded at least to Studios, they are so close.

I could be making this up, but I think I remember hearing it was designed so that the other line would right next to the current one in the same direction (I'd assume with loading and unloading on the same side of the platform for each train).

Never understood it. The long back and forth entrance and exit is brutal especially for family's with strollers and handicapped visitors. Just poor design in my opinion.
