I was in EPCOT January 11th. My out of state guest and I were very disappointed that the majority of the artist stalls for the Festival of the Arts were closed! Is this common on weekdays? I hope not because I have yet another guest this week and she also chose EPCOT for the same reason. And we are also going on a Wednesday! Two guys doing preprinted chalk art hardly count as a festival to me!
Last year I had the Incredi-Pass, so I know we went on some weekends and holidays. Maybe I just never went during the week for this festival? This year I dropped down to the Sorcerer Pass. But when my sister moved to Florida was only able to purchase the Pixie Pass. So we now schedule trips according to her date restrictions.
I'd hate to think that not only are her dates restricted, but also her ability to experience seasonal events such as EPCOTs festivals!
Does anyone know the answer? Is this park policy, or did we just catch the wrong day? Because if it is policy, then I finally find myself on the list of people who feel that the Annual Pass members are getting sc*ed. Prior to this, I had few problems with the AP system. It costs what it costs. If you can't afford it, don't buy it. They aren't full priced day tickets, so some compromise is expected. These have all been my arguments against AP members who get riled up over every change to the AP system. But not to be able to experience an entire festival? I think that's a deal breaker. Well, not a deal breaker, but certainly something I have a strong opinion about.
Again, I have a higher level pass. So I know this only effects me indirectly. But if I limit my visits to when my family can join me, then the issue is very relevant. I am hoping that they reopen the pass system and I will upgrade her to the Pirate Pass. This will open up some weekends. But, until then, we have to plan every family visit around her restrictions and deal with the compromised experience this seems to provide.
I hope this was a clear question with just a little whining and not a full on rant. I'm just very disappointed.
