A while ago, I did my idea of what I felt epcot's redo should be like. This is an update using disney's space mini land planned for future world as a base.
Current map for comparison reasons:
My "map":
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Space land:
Space land is all about outer space. It is themed to a mini space science center of sorts.
Attractions:
Mission space: Mission Space will be the same as it is now, but a new update will happen after the opening of GOTG to include randomized missions. The orange team will have more wild missions than the calmer green team. The plot will also be redone to include mentions of these other missions and why the space training program has these varied missions (basically to get people to get used to various planet landscapes and potential dangers they may face in their journeys).
GOTG: This new innovative roller coaster will have guests team up with the guardians to help save the day against some evil villain. The plot will heavily focus on the villain trying to steal every energy source the marvel canon has and the potential dangers that may cause to societies all over the galaxy.
Wonders of Space: Replacing wonders of life, this attraction will host many space themed interactive displays and will have two attractions. The first attraction is space blasters, this will replace cranium command. It is an upgraded version of Buzz lightyear astro blasters that was in disneyquest, basically a bumper car style attraction where guests can hit each other's cars with tennis balls. The second is the space rangers, a simulator attraction where guests join the crew from captain eo as they fly across the galaxy to bring peace. This will of course replace body wars.
Rocket Rods: This replacement to test track will have guests board a rocket rod that will fly through many elements of space planets, such as thunder, "acid" rain, meteor showers and more before being teleported to Earth and going through epcot.
Earth land:
Earth land is themed to the Earth, it's ecology, and it's life forms.
Attractions:
The seas with dory and friends: This revamp of the seas with nemo will be themed to the movie Finding Dory. The new dark ride will have a brand new plot exclusive to epcot about nemo and marlin getting captured and taken to the Marine Life Institute. It's now up to Dory and her friends to rescue the two. The aquarium itself will be themed to the said institute which has developed a fish translation technology, which explains how the guests can understand what the fish are saying.
The land: The land will be the most unchanged. It's interior will get a new makeover to reflect the popularity of soarin, the ceiling will have "clouds" added to it. The ribbons will be removed. The circle of life film will be replaced by a new theater show starring Russel during one of his scout adventures. Soarin over the world will be updated with new scenes and some removed.
The Subterranean: This will replace imagination, a controversial move, but one that fits the overall theme of the land. Figment and the imagination still play a part in the new ride. This ride is basically the dark ride equivalent to tokyo's journey into the center of the earth. The ride is about a group of explorers who find an undiscovered area deep in the Earth. The guests board special digging machines to go deep into the Earth. There they see a a giant shadow of a scary looking dragon. As they dig deeper however, it turns out to be the friendly dragon figment, who has now a slight redesign to make him cuter, but also more dragon-y and crystal like. He is more than happy to take guests through a tour of the underground. During the journey guests encounter strange plants, cute and threatening alien like creatures, and dinosaurs. The ride ends with a light at the end of the tunnel, figment says bye to the guests and they arise back to the surface. The image works will have more stone and crystal theming. Stepping tones will be colorful rocks. Figments music maker will have guests wave their arms to musical crystals instead. Rainbow Caverns will return as a painting experience where guests wave their magic paintbrushes at various fountains to change their colors. The magic eye theater show will be a simulator recreation of tokyo's journey into the center of the Earth.
Information land:
Attractions:
Spaceship Earth: Basically the same as now, but with upgraded narration, scenes, animatronics, and a new ending similar to the one seen in the Irons version.
Robotics: This will replace innoventions. The attractions will include sum of all thrills, the top spinning robots, smart-1, picassobot (who will draw your face), baymax's robobattle (a robot battling arena), the game room (spiritual successor to the sega arcade and disneyquest, including a revamped version of disneyquest's most popular attraction, pirates of the caribbean), animatronic showcase (a brief history on animatronics and showing the latest ones live), and create a bot (guests can create a robot on a touch screen and have the option to print it so a person at the gift store can build a toy version of the robot for a price).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overall, having little mini lands makes a lot of sense for epcot and I think it would work very well.
