Epcot doesn't lend itself to a coaster all that well. Maybe World Showcase but they haven't built a new ride there (or a new country) in more than two decades, so I wouldn't hold my breath.

Chalk up another vote for never.
Epcot is supposed to be about pushing the limits of technology and showing off the newest ride tech. As much as I love coasters, even the newest ones don't do any of that and don't stray from the basics. I think the closest to a coaster Epcot would ever get would be a Kuka similar to Forbidden Journey. Otherwise, only the newest and the best and most innovative.

I know that the Matterhorn was once planned for a Switzerland pavilion at the World Showcase, but I highly doubt this would ever happen nowadays. Besides, I don't think any type of rollercoaster would fit in at Epcot.

I didn't vote due to the lack of a "never" option.
Seriously, not all good parks need coasters.
If anything, Disney should be working on Future World.

Leave the coasters too the other parks. They are simply not needed in the Experimental Prototype Community of Tommorow

Never. Epcot is a park which focuses on more thoughtful and enlightening experiences, and as fun as roller coasters may be, thoughtful and enlightening they are not.

WESTCOT, the great unbuilt west coast version of EPCOT, was supposed to feature a roller coaster in its Asia Pavilion. It was themed to China, with the coaster weaving across a Great Wall replica, the vehicles themed to look like a Chinese lion-dance, and silk tapestries all around.

Since EPCOT already has a Chinese Pavilion, they can reincarnate this idea if they so choose.

epcot is not that type of park. i'm with the never club. it has great thrill attractions that suit it just fine. im not saying i wouldnt like additions every few years, and i'm sure there will additions (Disney minds are some of the best in the world. they are always trying to make things better! i.e. updates to test track), but not sure i'd like it to be a coaster.

Hopefully never. There needs to be at least one park that's different from all the rest.

Besides, it already has Test Track. Is that not like a roller coaster?

Totally Agree.

Yep,I agree with most here,I don't think Epcot needs a coaster. Its a park quite different from the rest and I kinda like the feeling of just strolling round the countries, and trying to speak in fluent Japanese,my dad taught me when he was a POW.tho my French is awful as is my German.I struggle when I get to UK.They can't understand my Scots accent."Aye,it's a braw brich moon licht nicht the nicht ".:ROFLOL:

Never. Get rid of Test Track too.

Thrill rides have their own dynamic, spread their vibe throughout a park. EPCOT's thrills are discovery, lenghty rides, grand showmanship.
