Hi there everyone! I recently received the Walt: The Man Behind the Myth special edition DVD as a gift. It's a DVD of that great film that aired on ABC last year, only they extended it 30 extra mins. for the DVD and added over an hour of really priceless bonus features. Anyway, I just was mentioning this because there's a whole huge section of the film devoted to Walt's vision for EPCOT, with some REALLY neat 3-D CGI visualizations of his original ideas for it as a city. There also is lots of footage of Disneyland, as well as discussion of his plans for WDW. In my opinion, Disney can get rid of those Platinum Edition DVDs -- I own almost all the Disney DVDs and this is by far my favorite.
I received it as a gift and I know it's not available in stores, and I couldn't find it for sale at amazon.com. I saw that laughingplace store has it, but it's like $40. www.mainstreetpins.com has it for a pretty reasonable lower price I think on their front page.
Anyway, this really is definitely worth checking out. I already had taped the show off ABC, but the DVD is really a whole different experience. It really is the most fitting tribute Disney's put out in honor of the 100 Years of Magic celebration. Part of the bonus features even is Walt's own home movies. Totally priceless! Just thought I'd pass it along...
