Epcot- Century 3.

This would be an attraction at Epcot that would please CoP fans as well as Horizons fans. I will go over several of the things as well as the architecture.

Location: Between the large fountain and the monorail tracks. If Future World Gardens are built, paths can travel around the structure and paths can be under the structure too.

Design: Post Modern Architecture with a little Art-deco thrown in. There would be a series of levels for the pavilian as well as esalators and stairs around the structure. There would be about 5 floors for the attraction.

Ground level- Walk ways as well as some refreshment stands. If Future World gardens are built, maybe Ice Station cool can be part of the area dowen there. In the very center is an Elevator that stops at the very top of the structure.

1st Floor- The Permanent home of the Carousal of Progress. The Theatre though would be a little "butchered" Due to the lack of space for the scenes, the whole building will be enlarged to contain preferably 12 theatres. Riders will then see every decade from 1900-2000 on the attraction as well as other stuff. All the Animitronics could be reworked to be "Mummy quality" and the sets will be overhauled to be of the best detail. Note: the elevator travels through the very center of the attraction. Also on this floor will be a little structure facing outwards (also holds escalators and elevators) that will contain the House of the Future where guests can play with what will be coming to their homes in the near future.

2nd floor- As soon as the passengers leave the attraction, they can enter a Horizons type attraction on the floor above to continue the trip. Due to the building's smaller size from the original Horizons it will be considerable different. Riders will board cars with 3-D glasses to view various scenes of living in the future will full 3D. Possibly with the team that did the Final Fantasy movie for maximum realism. Most of the story will be intact with a modern twist. Due to Space concerns, there will be no live Audio-animatronics but the 3D characters should help bring the ride to life.

3rd Floor- Horizons Restaurant. A future living themed restaurant with theming of the old Horizons. Great place to eat while watching Illuminations.

The Whole Building will will feature outdoor ledges on every floor providing a great view for Illuminations and of all of Epcot.

Music- Compostion will be taken seriously, It's a great big beautiful tommorow will be remixed and redone in a big beatuful way for every attraction. This will be especially noticable for the CoP.

I imagine this pavilian to be about twice as wide as the current CoP (can someone give me the dimensions) but the whole area will provide great attractions and shade for the guests.

Oops. Typo...

I ment 4 floors.

I originally was going to have a floor between the CoP and the ground that was used mainly for maintenence... but I changed my mind. I'll maybe make some concept art tommorow. Or maybe with RCT2...

Im really loving this idea. Epcot needs more attractions like this and it would finally give Carousel of Progress a permanent home. I love it and really dont want it to go.

I have a picture in my head of what this could look like, and if it could/would turn out like this, it would be AWESOME! If you want, I can make a concept art and post it...then I can also build it on RCT2! Just an idea though.

Well, I started to make a concept art....it sucks. So I didnt finish. But, I did build a model on RCT2. Its 100% art deco themeing (except for the roof, which I used Aboriginie tiles for...it would have taken forever otherwise...but really you cant tell). Here are some screenshots!

In this one, the lake behind it is the World Showcase Lake.

You may have worked well but that is nothing like I imagined it to be. I guess I will make a cheap Paint Drawing to show off what I want.

Well here is a structural look at what the building would look like. Green is open areas under the structure. Orange is Horizons. Teal is the CoP. And yellow is the restaurant. The elevator is in the very center and the purple are walkways that surround the building. The ones that pass around in a curve are supposed to show that they slowly wind around and up the structure.

A possible place for the House of the Future (If I had not mentioned this) is the area under the walkways coming from the ground.

Century 3 Structural Cut away

Now what I ment of Art Deco is kinda like a post-modern version. But with what resembles the gates at Universal Studios but being supports for the ledges.

And Wannabe, if you are to rebuild. Use Paint to find out how to get the closest thing to a circle to build the cylinder. Like say you want the building to be 300 ft in Diameter. Well make a paint file that is 30 x 30 pixels and make a circle that fills it all up. But make sure it is all congruent. Once that is done Use the pixels as a foundation for the building. If you use quarter tiles, just double the circles size.

I think I have an idea of what you're trying to achieve. It sounds great!

I can make some concept sketches for you if you like. Unfortunately I don't have RCT2 so it will be at the mercy of my questionable drawing abilities...

You like :D ?

I rather see drawings or actual CGI images than RCT2 pics even if the drawing is bad. My brother has been bothering me to dl the student version of Miya but I have yet to. He says it is a lot smarter and better than doing anything with RCT2. But I assume so because all the CGI on Mission Space was done with Miya.

Like I said in my comment, your work is very good and really captures what I imagined. And Like I mentioned in the post, the building would be twice as wide (though due to paper sizes I understand) and the art decoflying buttresses don't exist. But How am I to show this?

Structurally speaking, where would you like these buttresses? If the area underneath is to be open, which is a great idea, we have to be careful that the butresses don't impede access.

If you could draw another cut-away... :slurp:
