Epcot Area/Site cleared in World Showcase...

So I was looking at this aerial photo of the new, almost completed Riviera Resort and I noticed in the background the area cleared next to Germany in the world showcase. It did not look like this in Aerial photos from a few months back. Anyone know why they would have cleared that site??

EPCOT - What is this?

I was showing a student something about EPCOT (We were checking out the status of the France Pavilion). Then we noticed the big construction area between Germany and China. Any idea what's going in here? Is it a new thing?

Thats the area I am talking about. In the image I attached, it was freshly cleared.

Its related to the new shows replacing Illuminations.

Did we ever figure out what was going on in the land clearing behind Epcot across from avenue of the stars? I think it was near the firehouse and gondolas. I want to say a small building is even going up on that plot of land where they removed all the trees.

Its not just a fireworks show...Drones/kite...things are rumored to be involved and they need a close staging area.

It’s the new Brazil pavilion.

That is between Italy and Germany. Discussing the one between Germany and "The area formerly known as Africa"

Not really. It's only an open area to construct the barges for the new show.

Thank you! Still seems like a lot of work for a show. Maybe after all props for show are constructed they then use the site for something else?
