Epcot after 4 is now at exactly 4 PM

The 3:45 early entry to Epcot for Epcot after 4 passholders has been slammed shut. Confirmed with Disney Cast Member today after having door slammed shut at the park, yesterday. No notice given to anyone including cast members trying to get guests into the park.

The last time I bought a waterparks after 2 pass, I was explicitly told by the CM that sold me them ‘these always start working 15 minutes early, so feel free to come in at 1:45’. I assume the Epcot variety worked the same way.

I figured it was a sort of logistical crowd management ‘wiggle-room’, so they didn’t have a line camped out waiting for the clock to tick over and clog up the entry. 15 minutes wasn’t really enough time to abuse it in any meaningful way, and at the water parks at least there was never the slightest delay in entering anytime around 2pm anyway.

I’d be slightly irritated myself if I still had one of those passes, especially after being actively encouraged to take advantage, but you can’t argue with the fine print. I doubt it was ever supposed to be encouraged or advertised.

Honestly, if the park's slow, I've always found it funny to block people out, regardless of the formality of the pass. Seems like good business, especially if they're going to purchase food and drinks inside.

I'm surprised anyone still gets the after 4pm Epcot pass. Must be for things like New Years Eve access or something. Even the theme park select let's you in on July 4th. I don't imagine the demand is high.
