Ok all you gardeners out there! I need advice!
Being that there's a wooded area behind my house, and a field to the side of it, bugs are quite the problem...especially this year for some reason. The mosquitos don't bother me, the flys don't bother me, and the spiders don't bother me TOO much (though, they are one of my greatest fears). What bothers me are the ticks and ants. Mainly the ticks. It's been a little while since we've had outdoor pets, but we currently have a stray cat who we claim as a pet and we've been seeing ticks crawling on him. Not to mention crawling everywhere else! I can't remember them being this much of a problem before. I'd like to think we can greatly reduce their number in a safe manner. Is there some sort of repelent that won't harm our cat (as well as all our plants in our flower garden, and goldfish and frogs in our garden pond)? Preferably something that is easily found in stores such as Lowes or Home Depot.

Try one of the ones which don't actually kill the ticks, but prevent them from breeding. Usually you can just put a drop on the back of your cat's neck, and when ever a tick latches on, it'll get a dose.

No idea what the names of any of these products would be in america though.
