So what are the rules with engagement pictures on Disney property and has anyone ever done this? I saw that disney has their own photographers you can hire, but it's so expensive! So I guess my question is are you allowed to bring in an outside photographer for pictures and does anyone know of any good photographers in the orlando/central florida area?

I believe it is technically NOT allowed... BUT, with the amount of people who bring in DSLR's I don't see how it would be an issue if you met someone inside the gate.

We got the photopass CD and then just found every photopass guy we saw to take our pics. We will probably use one of those as pictures for our Save the Dates.

But to get empty park pics and such - a Disney photographer is the way to go

Woah,I didn't realize that they would do it when no one is in the park. That's pretty neat, but i'm not sure i could justify paying a little more for having an empty park :\

It is against the rules to have a professional photographer take your photos in the parks. We stop several people a week from trying this at EPCOT. Also just because people bring DSLRs into the parks doesn't mean they always get away with taking photos they shouldn't. Disney has become relaxed on takes area shots and such with photos but once someone seems to be setting up a photoshoot with people that is where they draw the line.

We did an engagement shoot at pors this past September and for the price I am not overly impressed with the pictures.. I stressed a few things I liked at the time of booking and beore the photo session started and the photographer didn't want to walk to the mansions because "it was to far and hot", even tho I really wanted pictures with the mansions in the back ground and the fountains.. He Constantly wanted to be inside, there were no romantic/ fun poses, all we're staged with us standing next to each other. And quite a few of them he stood very far away capturing the beauty of the surroundings but you can barley see us. Also there is a lot of shadows on our faces. This was the only disappointment I had in Disney. I just received the prints in the mail and am debating sending them a review of the service... These were not the engagement pictures I had hoped for unfortunately :(
