Emulators are perfectly legal. Having ROMs of games you don't own is not legal, however.

But if it is something they don't sell in stores anymore nobody cares. You won't get in trouble.

Yes. Sega and Nintendo no longer have any interest whatsoever in the sales of those platforms.

The only LEGAL way to use emultaors is::

1.) you must own the original hardware (the original console..since the bootroms are all copyrighted..and emulation technically BREAKS that copyright)

2.) you own the game

3.) you "rip" the rom yourself.

..and nintendo, sega, sony, and capcom ACTIVLY to this day take any means necessary to stop rom distrobution of ANY kind..even for the older system that :quote: "they dont sell in stores anymore". Trust me on this one...i am a big follower of the emulation community and have worked hard to find loopholes without any success.
