My mom and dad have owned and managed a restaurant for almost 30 years. They want to move to Orlando now. Does Disney higher managers for restaurants often? Is the pay better then 6.85 an hour?

Also I thought I heard somewhere that the pay for cast members who do transportation is higher then other positions. Is that true if you drive the monorail? Thats what I want to do. :sohappy:
Thanks for the help.

Being management in a Disney restaurant sucks. You get to work endless hours. I wouldn't want to do it. I'm not sure what pay is.

From my experience in the restaurants, managers tend to get transfered around a lot. I'm not sure how many new managers they bring in too often.

Pay is higher for transportation.

For information on what Disney is hiring, just call the JobLine at (407) 828-1000 (Monday - Friday between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.)

Hi again 919 -

I've met several restaurant managers over the years who seemed happy in their roles. Because WDW operations also include Attractions and Merchandise, many F&B Managers rotate into those assignments in the course of their careers.

Another plus is that even the most senior positions are right there at WDW (they don't have to move out of state or be on the road 2 weeks a month to be promoted to "regional manager")

And I have to believe that pay is competitve with other employers... it's a free market, right? People wouldn't stay if they weren't fairly compensated.

I'm going to guess that the tough part would be finding that Management role at WDW. I'd start at monster.com, and the Orlando Sentinal classifieds.

I see from your user info that you're about 18 years old. If you're interested in working at WDW, please check other posts here (maybe do a search on "College Program"). That's a great opportunity for a young person.

Good luck to you and your parents.
