Emh

Can anyone tell me how you know what the EMH are when they are on.

For example Disney site says EMH for a certain day how much earlier do they open and how much later are they open? Does it vary by park or is it set that if morning its an hour early and if evening its 3 hours? The site says up to...

Thanks

One hour morning and three hours evening. The site says "up to" to allow for the highly unlikely possibility of them closing earlier than planned. Thus avoiding guests complaining that they were told the park would be open for three hours of EMH [or worse suing]! It's basically a disclaimer to cover them if something comes up requiring that they close. Same as "subject to change without notice", it's a just-in-case clause.

Extra Magic Hours are published on the calendar on disneyworld.com. Just select the park you want to look at and and 'Extra Magic Hours' link will be displayed.

For more information click on the link (or just go to http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/calendar/extraMagicHour?id=CalendarExtraMagicHoursPage) and it will tell you if it's a Morning or Evening magic hours as well as giving a (slightly confusing) listing for all the parks.

Remember that not all the rides are open for EMH so scroll further down the page to see what's open in evening and morning hours (they are often different).

EMH morning hours are always 1 hour before the official park opening time given on the calendar (i.e. EMH starts at 8am for a 9am offical time). Evening hours are for 3 hours after the official park closing (i.e. a 1am closing for a 10pm official time).

To use EMH you need to be staying in a Disney Resort and you will need to collect a wrist band from designated spots in ech park where they will scan your room key (one needed for each member of your party)

Thanks Philo!

I am staying in resort, OKW as bought DVC last year!

What happens if we turn up at park at the official closing or after just for the EMH, can you do that or do you have to be in there before the park closes to the public?

For expample if park officially closed at 10pm to public and we go for dinner in resort then want to go over to park for hour or two after can we get in then?

Thanks for help

EMH as posted do change occasionally for any of a variety of reasons. Make plans, but check before you go to see if anything has changed.

As to arriving, they'll let you enter the park any time up to the end of the three hours if you're eligible to use EMH. As you get closer to closing, they'll likely advise that you have little or no time before close, but they'll let you in.
