EMH Mornings-DHS

Hi. My family and I are going to Disney in May. Our designated DHS day will take place on May 21. My brother mentioned that they're having Extra Magic Hours that morning from 8 to 9. Just out of my own curiosity, how are the crowds at that time? We're thinking about doing the morning EMH there. Thanks.

Touringplans has it at a crowd level "3" during that day. You're mid-week, between Star Wars weekends, so I think the crowds should be pretty manageable. If you're going that day, obviously try to be there at rope drop for the EMH. You'll likely get more done in the first couple of hours than you'll get done the rest of the day. :)

On the other hand, if you're running late and can't be there at rope drop, understand that the crowd will be bigger-than-on-a-non-EMH-day by the time you get there...

I've only been there once for rope drop and once in the crowd seem to split two ways, right to roller coaster & tower and straight/left to toy story. This was before FP+ and before they enforced the return time so we got fast pass for Toy Story and also waited in line for it, used our FP later in the day. I'm also curious to see how things are different now that FP+ is in use.

The line for Toy Story is just as long first thing in the morning as before FP+. Just returned from WDW a week ago and we made sure to get to it first thing and got right on. When we came off it, the wait time had gone up to 50 minutes already.

EMH will be very beneficial, you can get a lot done in that extra hour at DHS, honestly you should be able to do TSMM, ToT, and RnR all in the first hour without a fast pass.

You can get sooo much done during that first EMH. Get there before opening and do TSMM first, then hit the other biggies. We never miss an early EMH at any Park during our stay. Too many people prefer to sleep late than take advantage of the low crowds then.
