EMH Hours?

I know that when a park has morning EMH it opens an hour early. Here's my question; Are the evening EMH always 3 hours or does it vary? Are the exact times posted anywhere?

Thats a good question. I wanted to go to Animal Kingdom on EMH day (the regular closing time is 5pm). But, would EHM apply to AK, if so, it would be 8pm? But is it even worth it for AK?

it would be worth it to go to AK for the attractions but you may not see as many animals later in the day. In the past it has usualy been 3 hours but i have never seen posted times until i have arrived at my resort.

The standard line from Disney is EMH in the evenings are "up to" three hours after normal park closing. That is to cover them if a ride or two go 101 and people start complaining.

In fact, I don't know of it ever being anything other than the full three hours.

EMH lasts for 3 hours, but not everything stays open the entire time (especially in DAK)- hence the up to disclaimer. I would go to EMH in the Animal Kingdom, they place takes on a very different atmosphere when the sun goes down; it is definitely worth the time IMHO.

DAK during the day is one experience, during the night it's totally different (especially during EMH). To me it feels much more relaxing and much more wild. The lighting used throughout the park is phenomenal, it really add's to the exotic look of the park. The paths become a little more 'untrodden' and smaller routes seem more mysterious.

And that's all before you step on a ride. Everest at night is phenomenal. I always try to get on just as the last bit of light from the sun is fading - you can see a bit outside but inside is pitch black.

All I can say is if you get the chance, do it, even if only for an hour. The rides which stay open are the main one's you would want to ride (other than the safari)

Whilst MK becomes more magical at night, DAK comes alive.

What he said... Everest after dark is a fantastic experience. I love the ride during the day, but at night it it really great! :sohappy:

And the whole park truly is a different experience at night.

Thank you!!! I am really excited about going to AK for EMH at night.. it sounds beautiful. I just want to walk around with my boyfriend the different trails and take in the beauty.

Does anyone know if AK is open the full 3 hours after the park closes for EHM or do you suggest checking at my resort? I am going in January and their policy may be different then.
