EMH at World Showcase?

So we're staying offsite for the first time next month and I see there's a night of EMH at World Showcase while we're there. I know offsite guests can still walk around during EMH but can't get in attractions without the scan admitting them, but I've never thought of how that would work at World Showcase. It's during Food & Wine, so theoretically we could still spend the entire 2 extra hours there (that we are not entitled to) sampling things and hanging out, no? I don't recall ever seeing cards/bands checked for purchases during EMH, but we've always been onsite so I've never really paid attention.

Honestly, EMH at Epcot is more about Future World than WS....With only 1 boat ride, An ain't america great show, and 2 and half Circlevisions....And depending on how long they keep the booths open after the regular park hours.

Oh, totally. Nothing attraction-oriented we'd be too concerned about. Mostly just curious about how accessible WS would be as an offsite guest.

Even as an adult we tend to stay away from evening EMH at world showcase. My DH and have been know to enjoy a good drink or two but there is a time and place for everything and a lot of people believe that after 8:00 or 9:00 is a great time to get absolutely trashed at World Showcase. I don't even think Pleasure Island at its peak is as bad as WS is today. Its really kind of sad.

Hmm. I hear/read that complaint occasionally but can't say I've ever seen anyone that was an issue. We're usually there in Sept, though, so maybe it's a Food & Wine thing. This will be our first time there for it.

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
All the F& W booths are closed during EMH usually. We mainly use the EMH as a resort guest in WS, to shop or eat at the restaurants because they stay open later too on EMH evenings. This coming trip I have several 9:50pm reservations the 2 EMH nights we will be in Epcot.
But sorry as an offsite guests you will not have much to do even if you try to hang around WS. :)

Not true necessarily. Sorry you have had that experience but not all of us do. We (me and DH who don't drink much) are always there in Epcot during EMH in WS and during F&W and have never had that prob of people drinking too much or causing ruckus. Maybe we are just lucky but have yet to experience anything negative like that when there on EMH evenings or any night. Maybe give it another shot one day @MickeyMomV. :)

It hasn't been a one time thing. We go every 6 to 12 months and our last 3 trips we have seen issues with it. We do not have the time for Epcot on our trip next month but we will be there again in April and see how it goes.

Bummer sorry that has been your experiences there in the evenings! Epcot is a favorite of me and DH especially at night. Hope you have a wonderful experience next time to make up for all the negative ones! :)

Can you tell from my screen name we sorta like Epcot? With that said, we have stopped going to Epcot on weekend nights and during F&W period. I have a very low tolerance for drunken idiots, and the last few trips have encountered many. I am happy you have not experienced behavior that has no place at Disney, but we have too often to chance it again.

Just what I was looking for. We assumed all the carts would still be available and open to offsiters. Thanks.
Your welcome! Glad I could help! I wish they stayed open during EMH's or at least some of them but unless they change that this year, they have never been open for the EMH's before. We do always stay onsite and always enjoy EMH's and this would be a nice perk during F&W. :)

World Showcase is very accessible for non-resort guests, as long as you're there more for the atmosphere than attractions or dining. In fact it's actually a very nice time to take in some of the environments, grab photos, etc. if you have nowhere better to be.

If I remember correctly, a few of the quick service restaurants are open too. I remember having a very nice meal at a quiet Katsura Grill during EMH, and we weren't even resort guests.

I won't get into how often I've done this, but I'll just leave it at that…

I'm not fond of the Epcot EMH nights. My routine is to walk around the World Showcase Lagoon after IllumiNations, enjoying the vibe of the place with almost no one else around. During the EMH nights there are just too many other people in MY park!
