Elfman Tops Lifetime Picture
NEW YORK (Variety) -- Lifetime has signed Jenna Elfman ("Dharma & Greg") to her first starring role in a TV movie. "Obsessed" is a he-said/she-said drama based on a true story about an ill-fated love affair between a medical writer, played by Elfman, and a married physician. He ends up denying the relationship and she ends up in jail for harassment. The movie climaxes in high-tension courtroom drama. Veteran English director John Badham ("Saturday Night Fever") will shoot the movie in Montreal on a budget of about $3.1 million.
