Electrical Water Pageant parking

I'd like to catch the EWP on on Friday night Sep 10, but I am staying off-property. What's the best way to get to the Poly to see the EWP? I had thought about just driving to the TTC (I'll have an AP so parking fee is no issue), but that's during Night of Joy at MK, so I don't know if parking would be troublesome there. If I can get to the TTC, I understand it's just a quick walk over to the Poly. I also considered just driving over to the Poly and park there, but since I'm not a resort guest, I wasn't sure if I'd be locked up in the Disney Dungeon and be forced to eat stale pretzels and drink Beverly for ten to twenty. I'll also be around Downtown Disney, but taking the bus from there seems to be a 30-40 minute undertaking at the very least. Any help?

I'd have to agree that diving to the Poly is the way to go. You can also catch the parade from the beach at the Wilderness Lodge...also a very nice experience.

Best options:
#1 - Park at the Poly directly. I don't think you can just say that you're watching the EWP, so say you're going to eat at OHana, or the Kona Cafe. You still may get hassled some (it depends on who's working at the guard booth)
#2 - Park at the TTC and walk. The walk is short, and it's beautiful at night
#3 - Park at the GF and walk to the Poly. The same rules for #1 apply.
#4 - If you're feeling game and want an adventure, park at Epcot, take the monorial to the TTC, and walk to the Poly
#5 - Park at Downtown Disney and take a bus to the TTC. Last resort.

They should let you part AT the Poly. We've gone to several of the Resorts just to look around or explore. When you tell this to the guard at the gate he'll give you a 3 hour pass for your dashboard. You'll probably have to show your driver's license but other that that the hassle should be minimal.

Thanks to all for the advice! I'll try parking at the Poly and see what happens. At worst, I suppose they can throw me out of Orlando, revoke my annual pass, repo my truck, put me in front of a mousketeer-manned firing squad, and force me to meet Eisner. :p I'll try to remember to update folks once I get back on how things worked out.
