Taking out kiddos for trip #1 in September. Want to show them the Floating parade on 7 seas lagoon on their first night. 2 questions:

1- is it worth it (hear its very underrated)

2- was thinking Grand Floridian for viewing beach, is there a better spot?

Any suggestions? Kiddos are 1 and 3

I have always liked it for nostalgic reasons. DD is 2, and she loves it. We always have watched it from the Poly beach, but I think because of construction that might not be possible at the moment. I'm not sure though, hoping to find out that before my next trip. When we stayed at Wilderness Lodge we had a good view there too.

Yes. Do this. Get reservations for the California Grill for the magic kingdom fireworks show and arrive at the wilderness lodge 45 minutes before that time and take a boat ride over to the contemporary. Eat the dinner, watching the fireworks from the 15th floor and then return via boat ride to the wilderness lodge. The skipper will guarantee stop the boat in the middle of bay lake and let everyone on board watch the electrical water pageant as it passes. If you do this exactly as I described you and your family will remember it forever! Talk about magical. I always do this with first time guests at WDW and they talk about it forever. They think its just luck that they catch the pageant but I've done this at least 15 times. Works every time :)

It's a must do at least one time for the family I think! Any beach will be good to view from but I recently did the Poly last month and it was great. Just you have to be there on time because each night we caught it, it was exactly on schedule.

I watched the water pageant from the poly beach a few different nights a month ago while I was staying there. Still had vary good views of the pageant and fireworks.

You can also take the boat over to Fort Wilderness Campground and see it from the beach there. You could take in dinner at that Trails Inn Buffet or the Hoop-de-doo dinner then hang out at the beach. There is a playground near the beach and the WDW horse stables close.

It's not mind blowing but it's a classic! I caught it a couple of times. On a boat from GF to MK was my favorite view. We literally cruised right by it. On the Monorail gives you a nice view or just sitting on one of the resort beaches.

Thanks so much for the info! I was hoping someone would know that answer. We'll be at 'Ohana for dinner in a few weeks, and I'm excited that we'll still be able to see the water pageant after!

No problem. Now when I was there last month I'm pretty sure the pageant started at 9pm each night and I think the poly is the first stop.

We also ate at O'hana last month too and just by random we were sat a few tables from the window and had a great view of the MK fireworks during our dinner. It was a really nice unplanned surprise. Our reservation was late though, like 9:15 or so.

A window seat would be awesome! I've been there maybe 5 times and never have gotten a window seat, but my reservations are usually earlier anyways. Ours is at around 7. That might be a problem with Wishes & the pageant both being at 9. I wonder what will happen then!

We were seated a few tables from the window but we still had a good view from our table. It was our first time eating there so it was definitely a treat!

Also, the week of our trip the pageant was for 9 and wishes was for 10. They had another castle light show for 9:45 also. The exact times for your trip may be different.

Reminds me of our first stay at WL. I heard some funny music outside and opened the patio door in our room to see an electric parade floating by. I Make sure to get Bay Lake view every time we go back to WL.
