If this was previously discussed I appologize. I was at WDW last year in OCT and I noticed that the Eiffel Tower in Epcot was not there. I was wondering if it is back. If not, does anyone know why they took it down.

Every fall, the Eiffel Tower goes down for several weeks to reapply a special paste to keep the birds away. If a bird landed on the Tower, the effect would be ruined.
It has been back up for several months now. If I can recall correctly, it was back up by mid-November or December.

Thank you. That is an interesting fact too, come to think of it I have never seen a bird on it when I do see it. Thanks for the info.

That would be funny yet really sad and gross at the same time. I thought it was bad enough hitting a bird in my car all windows up.
I was at WDW last November and realized that the Eiffel Tower was gone as well. I was really ashamed beacuse I used to live in Switzerland and I always stop at France so that I can speak French with the CMs. Now that I know it's not permanently gone and I was just there on a bad week, I'm relieved. My mothere and I are now happy to know that it is still there! I can't wait to go and see it again. Also, is the reason you can't get close to it or see it while in France because of the size of it, or rather the small-ness of it? I always wanted to see it but I guess that would be why you can't get close.
