Effects the same?

Okay...after much deliberation as to whether or not to make this post....I have decided to do so...its just a simple question, but i have a feeling it will "Spark" a heated debate as to which version of the JIYI ride is better...just a warning, and im sorry if this happens.

HERES THE QUESTION:
I unfortunately never got to experience the ORIGINAL Journey into imagination...however...I DID get to ride Journey into YOUR imagination and there was one effect that I absolutlely loved, and that was at the end of the ride, when you were in a big black void that suddenly brightened up and it was the unload area...now that they have changed the ride....Is that effect still in place?

I really hope that effect is still in place as well. It was the only good thing in JIYI.

On the first rehab of Journey Into YOUR Imagination, I was always sure glad it was over! :lol: The original was sooo much better. I have a video of it that I got on a tape on ebay. Looking at it when you aren't there... it looks like such a lame ride, but I love it! Growing up it was always my favorite to go on.

I unfortunetly haven't been to WDW since the 2nd rehab of it, but I'm going this Sept to put it to the test! I've heard its better, but no where near the original.

Of course the original is the best, I remember it well.

But I liked the first remake better than the second, current version. Anyone else agree...I dont think so tho...but we'll see. I just remmeber a part in the first one where I literally jumped b/c something scared us. It involved like news, burst of light and some cold wind. It was neat. I think they still have somehting like that in the current version, but it had to have been tamed down.

I'm glad that most of us agree that there's nothing better than the original!


Then again, I haven't been since any of the rehabs, so I really can't talk- but hey, I'm a lover of the old school and the cheese of HM, PotC, Jungle Cruise, JIYI, Horizons, WoM, etc. have always captivated me!

I haven't seen the third version yet. I really loved the first version though I did think it needed major updating. I wish they had kept the same idea but updated the sets, effects and technology and gotten rid of allot of the film use.
Journey into Your imagination was a big let down with huge empty spaces and lots of static scenes. There were a couple spots that were neat but the ending was the best. That is the kind of things I like WDI to do.

The "Star" effect is still there... however, not as much as before... it's not total darkness anymore...

I never got to ride the original, but I have been on the two different re-makes. When I rode the second re-make the smell section didn't work at all, we got blasted with air, but it just smelled like, air. I also think I remeber liking the first re-make better, but I don't really remember.

If I was you, I'd be happy that you got blasted with air that smelled like just air....that smell is absolutely horrible!!!!:hurl:
