Hope everyone's Monday went ok, at least now its almost over. Has anyone heard anything about Early Entry coming back anytime soon? I've written a few letters to them but they have not gotten back to me on it. Funny, when I wrote to tell them what a good job they had done on something else earlier this summer, they replied promptly. (Go figure) I've heard that they've been getting a ton of complaints from resort guests about it. Has anyone been writing in on this "campaign" of sorts to bring these back? Maybe this summer? Take care everyone!

nothing recently...

but, I spoke with a couple 'higher up' CM's at the beginning of the year and they told me (as we all know) the official word is that EE is gone... Not temporarily or on hiatus, but gone. However, they went on to say that, in their experience they've "sometimes seen" bad decisions overturned and they admitted that they WERE getting a lot of complaints on this one. So that's a good scenerio...But, they went on to say that with the cost cutting & business aspects being scrutinized so closely, they (personally) doubted a (take note of the wording) "return to its former format", which I understood to mean, these CM's figured any EE return would probably be along the the lines of a "pay-for" type perk...

I fear that the Mickey from the Keys is correct. From everything I've heard of discussions with WDW execs, it's gone for good in its "current format". While I doubt that a successful business plan could be drawn up for a pay option, who knows what could be concocted. Boy, the pressure on the family to get up in time to make it to E-Ticket Morning! Since, of course, they paid in advance.

I'd bet against it, in any form. At least for the foreseeable future. As I've said before, I wonder what the summer is going to be like without it.

We really didn't use them either. The thought of going to sleep late and then waking up at 6 brought shivers to our spines. Getting up at 7:30 to get there at opening was hard enough.

The one time we used it at the Magic Kingdom was great though. We were able to get all of fantasyland and a lot of Tomorrowland done before 9. We went on Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, Snow White, Dumbo, Tomorrowland Speedway, and Space Mountain all before opening. Then we were able to do some stuff again later. But it was nice not having to rush through the day.

I wish they'd at least bring it back for MK. It was great to go on all of the Fantasyland rides without waiting in line.

It was a good time saver. Let you relax during the day.

We always enjoyed EE mornings. True, you have to get going a little earlier, but it was so nice going up to ToT, walking right into the Lobby and getting on the ride. Same thing for Space Mountain. I wish they would reconsider that decision to end EE, but it looks doubtful.

I haven't used EE in years, but it was a great way to see and do everything on some very early trips back when I was a kid. These days it's not essential that I do everything there is to do in each park on a single day -- my tastes have delevoped over the years that I know what I like and what I can miss. And then, every now and then, I'll revist a ride that I haven't done in years. For instance, on the next trip I'm looking forward to going on Big Thunder Mountain for the first time in about seven or eight years, but it's nothing that I can't do without EE. I think people will make out fine without it, and if they don't Disney will see what's going on and bring it back.

The cancellation of ee dosn't bother me to much because I've only used it once.

But does any one know anything about E-ride nights??? I read on another forum a couple of months ago that they were cancelled also. this doesn't make much sense cause people had to pay for this, but it was well worth it my opinion.

I never really used the early admisions either so it doesn't really bother me. Anyway I think the whole characters at the hotel's in the morning for the kids is a cool Idea. I haven't heard anything about the E-ride nights closing. I was just down there a month ago and they still had future days planned out.

A few years back whenever I went in to the comtemporary they had characters in the lobby. It was a basic thing there.

First off, the Character Caravan is bogus. 3 characters showed up at PO-Riverside. Chip and Dale and Rafiki.

Early Entry was great, especially if your plans included returning to your resort for a mid-day break/nap/swim. Without it, especially during the off-season when the parks close early, there really is not enough time to do this and see the entire park.

The only way EE is returning is if Disney sees less people staying at it's resorts since this perk doesn't exist any longer. I know there is a special magic staying at a Disney resort, plus the transportation benefits, but I will think twice next time about staying off property if they don't bring it back.

With fastpass is EE really necessary? EE is for Etickets and Fastpass is for etickets, and since resort quests can get a fastpass on their room key and their AP or other admission ticket (assuming you don't have a length of stay ticket) resort guests can get 2 fastpasses at the same time. (tho i like universals somewhat dumber system where you can get as many fastpasses (or whatever they call them) as you want on the same ticket and even get different attractions)

Further, I don't think I ever made it to EE when I was a kid and i was the early riser of the family and I doubt I would if it was reinstated for our next trip (WL May 02). Fastpass seems to solve the rushing around E ticks all day and frees us to....spend money in the shops...brilliant. Oh yea since I don't have AP anymore and don't go as often as I used to heres a secret to using fastpass, grab a fastpass then immediatly go into the standby line, when your done waiting thru the standby line and ride the ride and come out you can go straight in for another ride with the fastpass.

Hurricane, a couple of things.

1) You can no longer get a fastpass with your park pass AND your resort key. Only the card that has admission media on it. They fixed that bug quite a while ago.

2) The best part about MK EE was that it included all of Fantasyland, not just E-tickets or Fastpass attractions.

It was a very valuable perk to many guests. Folks at WDW have admitted that its removal has generated more negative reaction, phone calls and email than any other decision they've made.
