Eating out ( not Disney)

Now I have got into the swing of this forum. I have another question for you on Disney and surrounding areas i.e. International Drive.

If we decide to eat out (not at a Disney resort) can you recommend any good restaurants for breakfast and evening meals. We are not vegetarians but don't mind salads, seafood, steaks etc.

I realise there must be loads of great restaurants but there must be some that stand out from the rest and are competitively priced without burning a hole in your pocket.

Thanks

places to eat off Disney property

We are OK with the restaurants on the resorts but as we are hiring a car this time thought it would be nice to eat elsewhere, so I Drive would be good to start with and we are visiting Discovery Cove and need somewhere to eat on the way back to WL in the evening. Where are these fantastics steaks we here about?

A real unique place to eat is an Asian place called "Kobe Japanese Steakhouse" ...its a japanese style place and its fun. "Darryl's" has awesome food (including steak you were mentioning) There is an Olive Garden and also "Bergamo's" which is a ncie italian place. For seafood there is The CrabHouse (similar to Fulton's Downtown Disney) and anbother palce I liekd was a caribbean place, I don't remember the name but it was som, ething like "Bahama" something or other...I hope this helps!

It's Bahama Breeze. There's also a UNO's (pizza, italian), Jungle Jim's (burgers), TGI Friday's. They are all in the Crossroads area across from DTD.

(if it wasn't made clear by my avatar) I like to head over to Margaritaville at Universal's City Walk... Try going for a late dinner so you can catch the house band "Blue Stone Circle" they are incredible.

Yah,

If you want an GREAT all you can eat Chinnese place....

Go out thru DTD turn LEFT at the crossroads enterance....

About a mile down on the right with a KINCOS copy center and the STEAK & SHAKE

There is an all you can eat Chinnese place. About 100 items to choose from.

About $6.00 for lunch

If you turn RIGHT at Crossroads go under the freeway and there is a Chick fil 'A and a Wendys with a cheep gas station.

A nice place for dinner located right outside the Downtown Disney Resort area is LANDRY'S.
Great selection of seafood and steak, comfortable atmosphere, good service, and moderate prices. We had a very enjoyable meal there in the Spring.

A good place for breakfast is Schoney's. There are a few locations right outside the Disney property. While it is a "chain" restaurant, we found the food to be of very good quality and the prices very cheap! The breakfast buffet was a good size and all of the food was fresh, hot, and good!

ENJOY!

Did you say a "cheap" gas station? The Amoco by the Wendy's and Chick-fil-a on 535 is always at least 20 cents higher per gallon than if you went just a few more miles down the road to 192. Just fyi for anyone interested in not paying the ridiculous prices surrounding WDW:D

Also, food wise...in that area the best places to eat are Bahama Breeze and The Crab House. Both are moderately priced (compared to restaraunts on property) and the food is excellent!! Plus, the atmoshphere in Bahama Breeze is fantastic. I would say that it is done as well as a Disney themed restaraunt:animwink:

Just my 2 cents.
