I've been reading these boards for months, but this is my first post.

We have a adr for CRT at 8:00am which is also the time the MK opens that day. Any advice on how to make it to the castle in time for breakfast. Will they let us in early and if so where do we go ?

When you reach the turnstiles at Magic Kingdom head to the far right. There you will find a line for Character breakfasts. The Cast Member will simply confirm that your name is on the list ans let you into the park. Just FYI.... you will want to allow ample time to get there especially if you are driving and parking at the ticket and transportation center. It can a times take a solid half an hour from when you pull through the gates of the parking lot until you arrive at the gate to the Magic Kingdom.

Don't forget, if MK opens at 8:00 that morning, resort busses will start running one hour before. Allow time for your travel.

You may have noticed a theme with these responses- PLAN YOUR TIME WISELY! It will matter how you are getting to MK. If you are driving yourselves you will need time to park and then either take the boat or monorail to the entrance to MK. This can take from as little as 20 minutes from parking your car to 45-60 minutes depending on how many boats and monorails are up and running. If taking the bus they will let you off at the entrance so you don't need the boat or monorail. As previously said, at the entrance look to the right side of the entry lines for Dining reservations. Once inside the park you will have the chance to experience something that most visitors never get to see- the park nearly empty! Be ready to take pictures of the Castle from down Main Street USA with no strangers in the picture! It is quite strange to sense the emptiness, but enjoy it while it lasts! Give yourself some time to enjoy this quiet photo opp! But get to the Castle a bit early because this will fill up quickly and you don't want to have to wait for your seating longer than you have to. Have a great time!

When my husband and I come to WDW alone, often because our kids are older, we go to the Crystal Palace and get an early reservation, 8:05. We are let in at 7:45 and get to walk down Main St with only the othe breakfast diners, and the pictures and ambience are wonderful! Sometimes we are some of the only couples without kids, but the French Toasl Puffs are worth it to me!

Plan to hit the MK turnstiles a good 15 mins before your reservation so as to allow time to stroll along an almost empty Main Street and take photos

Totally agree:) Take time to enjoy Mainstreet USA on your way to breakfast:sohappy: Walk through the Rose Garden next to the castle...Stop and smell the roses

Buses from the resorts to the parks start running at around 6:30 or 6:45 a.m. regardless of the park opening times.

For example, Cinderella's Royal Table (and Chef Mickey's, located a short walk from Magic Kingdom) starts serving at 7:00 a.m., and there are plenty of days when Magic Kingdom doesn't open 'til 9:00 a.m. ... yet people can still get to those 7:00 a.m. reservations by bus.

The "buses start 1 hour before park opening" thing is a persistent rumor than just won't seem to die, but I'm happy to report that it's just not accurate.

The only thing about those early buses is that they don't run quite as often. Park buses are supposed to run about every 20 minutes. The very early morning buses might run every 30 or 40 minutes, which is something to keep in mind when you decide when to show up to your resort bus stop.
