early morn trans to MK

I recently heard that guests staying off-site are held at the TTC until 8:45am before being allowed to board a ferry or a monorail destined for MK. While resort guests are able to make their way to the front gate much earlier. My question is can an off-site guest walk to the polynesian resort and catch a bus or monorail from there or is this just another one of Disney's perks for staying at one their resorts? Does anyone know what someone could do to get their earlier if staying off-site? I thought of swimming across the lagoon, but I float as good as a concrete block! THanks for the help.

Guests at the TTC (Resort or Day guests) are held back until 8:45. Guests using Disney Transport are held back at the MK turnstiles until 9:00. I suppose you could walk to the Polynesian and take the monorail from there, but you will still be held back at the turnstiles.

That's a pretty long walk from the TTC to get to the Polynesian.

I'd wait the extra 15 minutes. Just be at the front of the line at the TTC.
