Early check in

Say if we arrived at our resort around 7AM on our check in day, would we be able to check in that early and have a room? We are staying at Jambo House on rented DVC points.


We are thinking of driving all night, taking a short nap and then head to a park for the day.

You can check in but having a room ready is kind of luck of the draw. Online check in has increased the frequency in which my rooms have been available, but I have no idea if the same will hold true for DVC.

We used to be able to check in early when paying rack rates... but, with DVC, I've never heard anyone getting to check in early. It might also depend on capacity. Is it at full capacity when you check in? Then no... they will not have it ready until 4.

It's just a coin toss...sometimes my room has been ready, sometimes not. Either way, they'll store your luggage and text you when the room is ready so you can go ahead with your plans and hit the parks early.

My last trip, my room wasn't ready at 11:15am when I checked in. I hung out around the pool for a bit, walked the resort, had lunch and gave up. I hit the bus heading to my first park and yep....the minute the bus left the bus stop, I got that text that my room was ready. It was 12:30. :lol:

we are dvc members and most of time we arrive early they have a room ready really quickly, never straight away but we just sit in the lobby for half an hour then they either come get us or we go ask again and usually there is one ready. We never get in early during the big busy periods though! luck of the draw me thinks :wave:

You guys have been lucky. Maybe I've gone during really high occupancy before. I'll let you know how it goes in a few weeks.

My last trip in March I used ME and when I gave them my information they said they were going to mark me for early check in. My room was ready at Noon when I got off the bus. I don't know if this applies to DVC or if maybe it was just pure luck. Hope it helps.
