I'm playing 36 holes at Eagle Pines next week and was wondering if anyone has any tips? Also, how is the Bonnet Creek CC? Is the restaraunt good?

Observations of a luncher/duffer

I've never played the course, but have lunched at the "Sand Trap" a few times. The fare there is simple, just slightly upscale.

For example, you might get a burger or grilled fish sandwich, served with homemade sweet potato chips or fresh fruit.

Service is normally quite good. It's an open, contemporary, informal place with comfortable indoor seating plus a few tables outside.

Last time I played golf, I resolved to take a lesson or two before again making an idiot of myself. Never took the lesson, never played another round, but did succeed in finding other ways to make an idiot of myself.

I've played Eagle Pines, Magnolia and Palms while at WDW and I've found the courses to be very forgiving if you miss the fairways. Unless they've changed recently, the "roughs" aren't very deep and shots that land there tend to sit up nicely, sometimes giving you the benefit of hitting off a tee. (I've used my 3Wood several times hitting shots out of the first cut of roughs).

Unless they've just laid down sand, hitting off the fairways are easy on the wrists and you can really strike down on the ball without worrying about dislocating your joints since the grass is so soft.

Keep your head down and hit 'em straight!

Have fun!

I'm afraid I've never played the Pines.

I've ventured out onto the Magnolia course and was a hair disappointed. Two days later I played LBV and was absolutely blown away. I thought it was far more entertaining than Magnolia, even with the deserted treehouses!

Have a great 36 and let us all know how you liked it!:)
