It's that time of the year again for a gamer. It's the time for the Electoronic Entertainment Expo, or E3! HURAH!

This year we have games such as Metroid Prime 2, Halo 2, and many others!

What are you hyped about!??!?!:sohappy: :sohappy:

So far, I've heard about Mario Kart and X-Men Legends for the Cube and a new Sam & Max for the PC! :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

Even though it's way too early, I'd love it if Kingdom Hearts 2 info started pouring out. I'm way excited about Metal Gear Solid 3, Resident Evil 4, and Mario Kart Double Dash.

Well, from what I've read so far, Nintendo hasn't revealed any big weapons for 2003, nor has it said much about GC's online capability... It's a pity, really, but at least Mario Kart is coming! :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: Can't wait to read some concrete reviews!

As for the others, it seems, Sega has given the best presentation. Lots of titles announced by everybody. TMNT seems to be cool, but that cel-shading is weird-looking. Star Wars Galaxies is there, Enter the Matrix is there, X-Men: Legends is there (looks AWESOME, too).

If anyone knows where we can get good reviews of the games, and not only small notes, please direct us!

I just have to state for the record, after attending both the Sony & Nintendo press conferences on Tuesday... Nintendo is in some serious trouble. People were leaving the press conference even before the Q&A... absolutley depressing.
Let's see... they focused a lot on the GameBoy Player... and series titles. Sorry, but I'm not going to whoop and hollor like some fan boy over the announcement of a Super Mario Bros. game for the GBA...

Let's see... Nintendo's big announcement was Resident Evil 4 and Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes...
Sony's big announcements was their introduction to the PSP handheld gaming console... and the exclusive online gaming capabilities with EA Sports.

Sony wins hands down... and at least they didn't have the fanboy cheering in the crowd.

Well, I kinda agree with you, but I admit I only got a Cube because of Super Smash Bros. Melee and Mario Kart. Smuggler's Run and TimeSplitters were all bonuses! :D

And blast that X-Box for getting a new Conker! :fork: :fork:

Dude! Shoulda told me you were there - could have met up or something. Hell I could have been sitting right behind oyu an not noticed. We were the group of 7 people laughing the entire time.

I'd have to agree - Nintendo is swirling down the bowl right now. Of all the games they could have showcased, they choose Pac-Man. The sad thing is that it wasn't even a FUN version of Pac-Man, it was a crappy multiplayer version that got boring after two games. Like my editor stated, "It was like reinventing the wheel, only instead of making it round, they made it an oval."

had I been to the boards earlier I would have probalby spoken up... but then again, I was there with DigitalBackspin.com as a guest of sorts... though my business cards say handheld editor (nice)...
But good chance that I'll be there next year with DBS or with someone else... doesn't matter to me. :)

But I had to laugh at your Pac-Man comment... while it was pretty nice to see, it definitely was not PSP-like news. Sad thing was that it was not until later that night that I realized the whole Pac-Man thing was staged... the press release was within the media pack :(
At least Sony can do live gaming across the country between Tiger Woods and Cedric the Entertainer ;)

Kind of bummed I missed out on the flop that was known as the XBox press conference though... I would have loved to seen that one.

BTW: if you saw some idiot walking around in a Mighty Ducks jersey on Tuesday... that would have been me. :)

Actually - except for the three stooges (Ed Fries, J. Allard and Robbie Bach) being on stage and finishing each other's sentences, the Xbox conference was actually really good. While it wasn't as good as Sony's - they had a real strong showing. The XSN plans sound great and provided they can get the games (Links, Topspin, Fever...) a little tighter, it could be a real success. The Live upgrade and Music Mixer were also great.

Although the Conker game is basically a remake, I'm really excited that it's going to be a LIVE game. I can't wait to play 'The Beach' online. The Blitzkreig mode also looks like fun since it's basically Counter-strike with demended gun toting teddy bears.

Plus there was the real-time Halo 2 showing, which was probably the most technically impressive thing on the floor besides Half-Life 2. The best part of the entire thing was that none of the events that happened on the field (outside story elements) were scripted.

So, what I guess I'm trying to say is - it was far from a flop.

hey..Xbox actually was a HUGE part of e3

Halo 2
Halflife 2
Doom 3
Prince of persia 3D
Conker
Ninja Gaiden
Thief 3 (im REALLY lookign forward to this one)
Fable
Black And White 2
A new splinter cell

etc

most are xbox exclusives...

Sony had a slow start..and then came the PSP...which hadda make nintendo and nokia scared :D Im sorry to say..i cant get very hyped over MGS:3...*shrugs*

Nintendo...FLOP!!!!! They really need to take the same road Sega did...it seems to me to be the only salvation they have left. Stick to games and handhelds...

so does anyone have the scoop on why EA Sports would have gone online exclusive with Sony only? Did MS and Nintendo tick them off or what?
I know that XBox was online for EA Sports titles last year... at least with Madden 2003. Not sure if GameCube had the feature or not.
So I'm just finding it a wee bit strange that EA pretty much told MS to off... dunno if EA wanted more control of the online capabilites or what?
