DVC Member Annual Passes $399

So last year during September, Disney offered the $399 Special. I know the interest in this promotion is extremely high this year, in fact I would bet the interest is even higher than last years considering the amount of people that regret not participating in the deal. I am thinking, HOPING they are going to wait out until December to see how many people will actually renew on their own or just let it expire. Hold out for a annual meeting announcement? Maybe can the idea completely? Any thoughts?

I thought it was an awesome promotion, however at the time I was an associate on parents account. I would hope Disney considers the fact that DVC members are DVC member out of loyalty to the Disney franchise. I get far better vacation deals through my Disney Visa and JetBlue than the ones offered through DVC. The 10% off is pretty much a standard perk with memberships, DVC isn't eligible for free dining even though I pay in fees more than I would . for a value resort, and Florida residents (even though I have deeded rights) are afforded monthly installments.

Couldn't say it better myself!

We also bought in at that price but didn't activate them until our trip in August so I have until next August to use them. What a value!!
Can we buy the AP at that price now and not activate until next June? i didn't know that was possible. Our last AP expired this past August but we weren't planning to buy new APs until our trip in June 2014. I would buy them now in a heartbeat at that price if i can hold off on starting the year until June.

I think the deal was you could renew at that price even if your current AP did not expire, and were given a voucher to activate once your AP expired....so people who took advantage were given something really golden.

I know I let my AP expire due to money constraints, but wish I could have renewed at that price. I just returned from WDW and bought a new AP since it was only $80 more than a 6 day pass...

If your AP expired in August, you only have 30 days past that to renew your AP, so you will have to buy a new pass rather than getting the renewal rate.

When I redeemed mine last November(bought in oct?)the expiration date on the back was a year from when I bought it rather than when I activated it?i didn't question it because it wouldn't have been used at that time any way!

That ship has sailed. The offer was only open from October-December 2012 but is able to be activated up until December 31, 2013. So someone can activate it on 12/20/13 and use until 12/20/14. It was a pretty sweet deal. We bought it in December 2012 but activated it in August 2013 so we have until August 2014 to use it. After 9 or 10 days the pass pays for itself. We were at Disney for 9 days in August and will be for another 9 in July.

Oh well. It was worth asking. We normally schedule two or three trips over a year period and get our APs when we get down for our first trip. Since we want to go in May 2015 for star wars weekends (for my 40th birthday!), we are planning to go June 2014 for 8 or 9 days, then 5 or 6 days in November and then another week or so the following May. the AP is the only way to go.

Also Planning May of 2015 as well as October 2014. So maybe I will get passes in October, but the cost is out of this world
