I am sorry if there is already another thread for this topic, but I was wondering how the construction looks? There is some availability for Mid-May and I was debating booking it, but do not want to if it will still be a construction zone.

Is there a final date to when the whole project will be done?

Thanks!

Cool, thanks for the input. I saw the pictures, but I assumed that there would still be some construction walls up. That is good to hear that there is not, how are the pools/ hot tubs?

VGF is completely finished.

We stayed in a 2-bedroom villa at the VGF for a few nights during Thanksgiving week. (Also a few nights at BWV.)

It was nice but rather sedate for our tastes. There was nothing to do there and we had to walk to the Grand Floridian for pretty much everything, not exactly a short walk when all you want is a cup of coffee or a bite to eat.

Everyone has different tastes. Give it a try. You might love it!

There isn't anywhere to grab snacks or coffee? I did not know that hmm..... Is the walk comparable to kidani and Jambo house ? (Not sure if you have been to AKL, just trying to get a sense)

We were at GF last October and it was literally just finishing up. Saw a lot of "management" walking through and housekeepers putting the finishing touches on. Some of the curtains were open so naturally I walked on the grass and peeked in. I have to say it's gorgeous, big with lots of comforts but if I was staying there and had to walk all the way over the say Gasparilla Grill for something, I would be a little disappointed. However since it has the fully equipped kitchen I would make sure I had my coffee fixings and definitely some groceries on hand.

What's the distance compared to that of Conch? If that map is drawn to scale it looks like it's about the same walk to the lobby. The only thing that's going to stink is walking back from the boats at the end of a long day. But then again it beats riding the bus

Interesting, thanks for the input. I don't think this will be my cup of tea. I think we are just going to book BLT since I have not done this before.... Maybe someday in the future ill try to work in the villas at GF, but as of now there does not look to be enough happening in that area.

We were actually very pleased with the short walk from the VGF to the main building. Then again, we were staying at Kidani, and it was more than a quarter mile walk from our room to the Kidani Lobby, so maybe our viewpoint was skewed. It seemed close to the pool, close to the spa, a covered walkway all the way to the main building which didn't seem like a long walk at all only a little longer than BLT. That map seems to stretch the walkway out a bit as there wasn't that big of a gap between it and the other buildings.

It's not far until your at Gasparilla's and want to get back to your room with a snack and the 3pm thunderstorm starts (summer).
