Duration of thunderstorms?

Anywhere from 3-6pm just about any and every day. It'll last about a 1/2 hour or so and then it'll clear up...

Yup, just pack a poncho or use that time to head back to your resort to take a break and gear up for the evening.

The only time you'll really see storms that last a full day or longer is when there are hurricanes or tropical systems off the coast that get "stuck" for awhile.
It's pretty cool to watch the typical Central Florida rain storm form and dissipate on a time lapse weather map. They form out of nowhere, swell and get severe, then contract and disappear to nothingness. It's nothing like normal storms up north that are well-defined systems moving according to known patterns.

We had some weird weather pattern in September last year. It was nice during the morning and early afternoon, but then when the storms blew up, they didn't move and they didn't dissipate until way after midnight. Even the local news stations were like... this isn't normal, lol.

Not to put a "damper" on things (so to speak) but we went the first week of June 2013 and had several days of all-day rain...it was so bad that when we exited the Voyage of the Little Mermaid show at DHS and it WASN'T raining, the whole theater erupted in cheers!
There was no tropical storm to account for the rain.
Just wanted the OP to know that wash-outs *can* happen. Just persevere on through!

As long as you're ready for whatever, you'll be fine. You can't control the weather, but you CAN control what you do in it!!! A rainy day in Disney is still better than being at home, lol.
To that point, any special rain delay tips?

Delay? No delay. Push on... As long as you're not in any imminent danger of lightning (aka, it's just a rainy night or something), puddle stomp, have fun. You can only get so wet, lol. Some of the best nights I've had were EMH nights at EPCOT in the World Showcase. There's not many places to hide from the rain there and it seems that for a bunch of people, they'll melt or something
, so they head out after Illuminations. A nice empty World Showcase, especially if the rain stops, leads to a beautiful empty park all to yourself!!!So, if it rains, it rains. Stick to your plans, just keep an eye to the sky during the afternoon. Most times not all the parks get hit either. It could stay sunny at MK and be absolutely monsooning at DHS and EPCOT, so I'd have a good weather app or 2 on your phone, but don't worry too much about it.
