Dumb question re: gift cards

My son got a ridiculous number of gift cards for Christmas and I was curious to know if gift cards from chains like Walmart or Toys R Us can be used in the US if they were purchased in Canada. Since I rarely go to the US, I have no idea. I suspect they cannot be used, but thought I would check to see if anyone has any experience..........

I dont see why not?? If you got a gift card from walmart you should be able to use it at any walmart

Check the fine print, I received a target gift card (bought in Canada) and on the back it said valid in Canada only. Not that it is a big deal, since I live in Canada, but I was going to use it on my next US trip.
