Alright, Finally I'll take the time for a trip report... I've never read anyone's trip reports so I don't know how they normally work, but I'll do my best...
Sunday 8/13:
Arrived at AS Sports at about 2:45 and I (stupidly) didn't pack an extra outfit to wear in my carry-on. I always do, but I had my brother's bachelor party the day before and I didn't get home until 3 a.m... and then woke up at 5:30 a.m. to leave for the airport and had packed Friday, so I just forget. Anyways... this was a COSTLY mistake as DME was slow that day and I didn't get my luggage until 7:15... so we hung around AS Sports all day... kinda crummy but again, my own fault, my gf had clothes.
We ate at Teppanyaki the first night, 8:00 and it was delicious as always. Unfortunately (but smartly) they changed their menu (probably due to dining plan). Last year I got steak and lobster, settled for steak and chicken this year and it was DELICIOUS! Fantastic. After dinner we went to MK which had EMH, it was a mob-scene. So we did POTC for our first ride of the trip, then did TTA... then decided to go back and sleep. We fell asleep immediately... except then I had my little encounter
. There was a thread on it, got moved to chit-chat though.
Monday 8/14:
AK EMH in the morning, so we got over there, went right to Everest and did it 3 times before 9:00... it was AMAZING... ohhh man. If you haven't done it yet you HAVE to wait an extra train for the front... makes sucha difference... It was FANTASTIC. Then we did the Safari, and finally got over to CMM to see Festival of the Lion King which was really good! I think then we just had lunch and headed back.
We then went back to MK, got on Buzz, Space MT, Thunder MT twice, and HM before heading over to WL for Whispering Canyons. Oh mannn it was so funny; I was drinking coke, and the waitor said (when I finished my drink) "would you like a little more coke?" I of course said "yeah thanks." So he literally brought me out like a shot glass of coke with a big straw (pictures to come, I promise!). Then I said... "hahaha could I get a lot more than this?" So he brought me out a huge glass that measured to be 1.5 liters... and I ALMOST finished it... but I started feeling sick... That was fun though.
Then we went to MGM for EMH and it was insane... it was like a 20 minute wait to get your EMH bracelet... so we left, went to Y&B club, hung around there for awhile then headed back for an early night.
Tuesday 8/15:
Epcot EMH morning... got to do Soarin' and that was basically it... it was packed. I also slept in so we missed most of the EMH... but we did Imagination, and SSE, along with Turtle Talk actually which was a riot... I enjoyed it a lot! We went back around noonish, went to MK again just to look around the shops for a bit then heading to the Campground for hoop-dee-doo... It was a GREAT show and we had an amazing table. Plus, ALL YOU CAN DRINK BUD LIGHT... to say the least, we went back to MK that night and I wasn't exactly in Disney form. My gf knew I was drunk, but said I didn't act it whatsoever and hid it like a champ... I've become very very very good at acting sober when i'm definitely not... I'm definitely a polite person always, but she said I was being like 100x more polite than anyone she'd ever seen... I don't remember what she said I was doing though, just being extremely happy and friendly... She made me do the Tiki Tiki room though to pay for my mistake. I was sober within an hour and a half though and we did TM again, and TTA... then called it a night.
Wed. 8/16:
Typhoon Lagoon in the morning and we had a blast. Soooo much fun, Crush N Gusher was awesome, did it three times rapid fire to start the day, then did just about everything else (except humunga cuz my gf doesn't like those slides). We did the lazy river for like 2 hours later on too cuz I LOVE lazy rivers (being lazy and all it makes sense). After that we went to MGM, did ToT and RnRC once, then did TGMV and Muppets. Then we headed over to Animal Kingdom EMH and they weren't bad. We got on Everest twice, but then I felt sick from the heat so we just relaxed. That night I had planned my surprise for my girlfriend (part of her 5 year dating anniversary gift, that and a nice bracelet to match a ring I got her a few years ago). So, we left around 8ish and went to MK and then I said "lets just go to Contemporary, Polynesian, GF, and then come back here for the fireworks..." (she knows I like to resort hop).
So we went to the Contemporary, she had to use the lady's room (luckily) and I went to check in for Cali Grill on the second level, but instead you checked in on the 15th floor this night... so I figured "i'll leave her down here and check in" so i took the elevator up and asked the lady if I could get a window seat for wishes (its 9:00 right now, ressie was for 9:40) and she said a window seat wouldn't be available until after the fireworks... so then she tells me I could sitdown right away if I wanted... but I said I'd wait till 9:40 and she said "oh, ok... so you don't want the window seat?" I was like... HUHH??? She just told me I couldn't get it, but anyways, some other lady came over and said "your table is ready, beautiful view of the castle, window seat" so I'm like "give me one sec!" I went downstairs and my girlfriend is wandering the contemporary like "where the heck did you go???" I make up some lie about looking at Chef Mickey's and then keep her talking to me while we just get in the elevator (she thinks nothing of it) and we carry on convo until we get to the 15th floor where the lady is waiting for me and says "this way to your table" and my gf was like "WHAT??? NO WAY!" She was soooooooooo excited... So we had wine, appetizers, and desert... came to like $63... plus I felt bad cuz our waitor was awesome and we took up his table so I left him $90... like 40% cuz I felt bad... I paid too, didn't use dining plan. She was sooo happy. Then we hung around for awhile after the fireworks just looking over Seven Seas Lagoon and taking in the view and such... it was great.
Thursday 8/17:
Went to MK for EMH morning, and did Splash FINALLY twice... then had Character breakfast at Crystal Palace, and it was awesome, great food! We were paying for it since it was only like $38 total without tip and it wasn't worth using a table service, but my girlfriend just took the bill, threw down money and refused to let me pay cuz of my surprise of her last night... I tried to fight with her, but she was getting mad so I finally gave in... free breakfast!! Then we hung around there for awhile longer before going back.
We got back to the room around 1:30ish and I had had little too drink and it was like 95 that day, and I got extremely dizzy and sick. I ended up throwing up like 6-7 times so I took like an hour nap... drank lots of water (my girlfriend took care of me... made sure i stayed hydrated) and we had 5:00 50s prime time cafe ressie we knew we'd miss so we did Nine Dragons at China for like 6:40 instead... went to Epcot for it, ate there and I didn't really enjoy it. I'm not a huge chinese food fan... I mean, I love terriyaki chicken, and shanghi pan-fried noodles, but they didnt have either... so i got general tso's which I'm sure was good for those that like it... i just don't. My gf enjoyed her meal though. Then we looked around Mousegear for awhile, and called it an early night.
Friday 8/18:
AK in the morning, did Everest twice more and bought a picture of ourselves! Then we met up with my gf's best friend and her mom cuz their family was there from wed-mon to move in my gf's best friend's younger brother into U of Tampa, or Tampa U... whichever it is. So we hungout with them, did the Safari and FOTLK again, did Kali rapids, and Tough to be a Bug, then just had lunch and went back. We went to MK again (everyday... wow...) just for a bit cuz we had a ressie with their whole family at Grand Floridian Cafe at like 6:00ish. I never had heard of GFC before, but it was AMAZING... food was delicious, setting was beautiful, service was great. Wannabebelle (our travel agent) suggested it... she was awesome! Thanks for your help Belle!
Then we went to Epcot and only did HISTA which was fun, watched illuminations, then headed back.
Sat 8/19:
MGM EMH morning, and we did RnRC two more times and ToT three more times which was nice... then did Who Wants to Be a Millionaire play it twice... not realizing it was the last day there... depressing. At least I got on the show once... Then we did Star Tours and that was basically it I believe. Left and went to Contemporary that night for dinner at Concourse Steakhouse. I wasn't starving so I got the 7 oz filet (only size they offered) and it was DELICIOUS... also got some Rum drink cuz I asked for a Rum Runner (had them at the bar next door) and the waitor said they had a drink similar to it on their menu... whatever it was it was delicious... and my girlfriend got a Pena Colada which was also delicious. Then we (yet again) did MK that night, but didn't get on much cuz it was crowded...
Sun 8/20:
Went to AK that morning to do Everest one last time... did that and basically just that. Then we went over to Epcot and finally got on Test Track, and then I got a Magarita from the Magarita stand... got a Lime one... delicious, very good, should be for the 8 bucks it costs... then we did Norway's Maelstrom, and whoever the CM was that was loading people onto the boats was drop-dead gorgeous... I pointed this out to my girlfriend and she hit me... (I was drunk either, 100% sober... just thought I'd point out this girl was gorgeous... I've been with her 5 years... I can tease her). She actually after hitting me said "no she is very attractive... don't say another word though!" So I didn't... for like 10 minutes, then brought her back up... hahaha I'm a jerk. She really doesn't mind, she knows im joking.
So we did that, went back to the hotel to catch our bus... and that was that. We flew Jet Blue so I was really excited cuz our flight was at 7:55 and the sox/yanks game was on ESPN at 8:05 that night... and then before we board they tell us its a new plane and the TVs don't work... EVERYONE LOST IT... cuz everyone obviously had the same excitement as I did... we didn't miss much clearly though...
Anyways, thats my Trip Report... all in all clearly a fantastic trip... great time... won't be doing it again for some time though since we're both going into our Senior Years of College, and she's gonna go to Grad school and we need to both save so we can buy a house together in a few years... it was scary (we don't have much problem talking bout the future... I know I'm going to spend the rest of my life with her), I said to her though "do you realize... the next time we come here... we might have kids with us..." she immediately yelled at me... that's too far into the future, and just a weird thought... since we've gone four straight years (Senior class trip... then we went just us two the past three summers now including this one). I think we'll take one more before we do though... only because I wanna pop the question in 2-3 years... and I wanna do it down there... (I hope she never joins this site... :lookaroun )
