DTD Resorts?

We are planning on staying at a DTD resort for our 2014 trip as they are much cheaper than the Disney ones! I like the look of the Hilton Lake Buena Vista, apparently this resort does EMH's. Has anyone stayed here? Opinions please, anyone prefer any of the DTD resorts?

If you need EMH's, then you should stay there, but if they aren't that important to you, I would pick the Double Tree Suites, which are a couple of hotels over from Hilton and share the same buses to and from the parks.
The Double Tree Suites are huge. You have two rooms. One with the kitchenette and living area with a sleep sofa and tv, and one with the two beds, tv, dressing area, large floor safe and nice size bathroom. The bedroom is nice sized unlike at the Hilton where they have very small rooms. The Hilton has the large safe and a small dressing area, but no kitchenette or separate bedroom. That separate bedroom at the DTS is worth a lot, especially if you have children or anyone joining you. They also have two bedroom suites. The Hilton has the better pool, but that's about it.
The DTS has a great breakfast bar and the cookies on check-in are great. The cost is less at DT. You do have to pay for parking. Even though it belongs to the Hilton group, you do not get the EMH's. If you watch online, you can get a room at DTS for as low as 79.00 per night. I've posted this before, but since you are asking, I started out the reservation at 239.00 per night and by the time we went on our trip, I had gotten it for 89.00 per night. We've gotten anywhere from 79 to 119.00 but never more. You have to watch the site daily, and when it drops, you call immediately and get the new price (as long as they have vacancies). You can usually tell when they are going to have a price drop when the site is down. Within a few hours, it's back up with the lower prices.
We stay at DTS for almost all of our long weekends and in the parks for all our longer stays. We like the EMH's during our long stays.
We are staying at AoA in September for MNSSHP because we wanted to be one of the firsts to stay in a room. We'll move back to DTS for Christmas and POR for our long stay next spring.
What I like about the Hilton, DTS area is being so close to DTD and to the main strip with all the grocery stores and restaurants and shopping.
However, if I'm staying more than 4 nights, I will always pick a Disney resort or if I can't go but once a year.

The EMH's will make us feel like we are still in the Disney loop but they are not vital, it will just be 2 of us so the room space is not too important, the DTS being cheaper makes it a possibility! I will research this resort, thanks.
Yep- always pick a Disney resort. Even though it's DTD, it's still not "Disney" to me. IMHO.;)
I completely agree but these resorts are way cheaper then 'Disney' ones and by staying in one of these we will now be able to afford to add a extra holiday inbetween WDW trips. I will feel better knowing I'm on WDW property and the Hilton does EMH's so I will still feel disneyfied! This is a major turnaround for me as I've always stayed at a Deluxe with upgraded views but the misery of waiting 2 years inbetween was too much, this way we can do a Gulf Coast holiday inbetween to cheer us up!!!
