I currently have a lunch at Boathouse scheduled for 2:00 pm on 11/10. (Have MVMCP later that evening).

Should I keep Boathouse or switch to Morimoto Asia?

Two totally different animals. I have been to Boathouse and it's pretty cool inside and the food was heavily portioned and tasty. The outdoor area has a great view of SS and the lagoon. Really depends on what style of food you like better. Doesn't at all answer your question but just thought I'd throw that out there :)

Really tough call. We reviewed them both and rated them very similar.

I think it goes purely down to food choice. Look at each many and see what you think. You wont be disappointed with either.

The BOATHOUSE is more conventional menu.

I haven't been to Disney since Morimoto opened so I can't do a comparison between the two but I did have lunch at the Boathouse about six weeks ago. It was a steamy day so we opted to eat inside rather than on the deck. The atmosphere is pleasant and fun. There was a musician playing in the bar area and he could be heard throughout the dining area. It was enjoyable and upbeat, not too loud for conversation. They have fabulous house cocktails including a large selection of unique martinis. I had the steamed clams appetizer.......perfectly prepared, very tender. For the main course I had the Mahi Mahi Tacos. Definitely the best fish tacos I've ever had. I don't remember what everyone else ordered but there was no complaining and we are a choosy bunch. Afterward we commented that we would certainly return on a future trip. Nothing negative to say about the Boathouse.

But seriously, while I enjoyed Boathouse, I found the $29 cost for the lobster roll very much overpriced and most likely the next time I go it'll just be for a beer and appetizer.

I'll consider Morimoto more seriously when ADRs open up on MDE on 11/1. In the meantime, I'm holding my ADR for Boathouse at 2pm on 11/10.

I'm sorry we went to Boathouse and the restaurant is unique and interesting but overall we found the meal overrated! I would rather go to Fultons Crab House anyway. So with that being said I would switch to Mortimoto for sure.

There was three in our party and we all agreed it was just okay nothing to write home about. Which was very sad as we love eating around all of Disney during our two week trips each year. For apps we had lobster bisque (2) and lobster on the half shell. For entrees we had Filet Mignon (which I had the evening before at Fultons and was wonderful!), NY Strip, and Farmers Chicken. For dessert we had Key Lime in the Mason Jar (2) which we had at several restaurants on property by far this one was the worst way too much artificial lime flavor mixed with natural and the Mango sorbet. We also all shared the truffle fries which was wonderful and the best part of the meal. I know many people like it here. We were just not impressed!

I appreciate the feedback.
