Drop off at parks

Hello!

Visiting the Sunshine State this August for the third time and have an enquiry about something I couldn't find info on elsewhere.

Basically, I will be dropped off by car. at the parks every morning by a dutiful family member, who won't be visiting, and obviously wishes to avoid the parking charges in place at the parks.

I know where this is done at Universal, but if any of you helpful folks could let me know where to head for this at the four major Disney parks, I'd be much obliged! :animwink:

I'm pretty sure they'll have to pay but I think then they can get a refund if they show up someplace within an hour with the receipt. I just don't know the "someplace!"

I'm sure someone will pipe up - but when I get home tonight, I'll see what I can find.

You could also be dropped off at the Boardwalk area and use WDW transportation to reach the other parks or even DTD. How about the TTC?
There is no need to park to drop you off so they should not have to pay.

The drop off for the Magic Kingdom is just past the TTC, just before the entrance to the Poly. It's also where the taxis are.

Not sure where the other drop offs are. But I'm sure they can tell you at the parking booth. And I would imagine if you told them you were just being dropped off they wouldn't make you pay for parking. Maybe.

TTC is the way to go. Let the CM at the Magic Kingdom parking gate know that you are being dropped off. It is in fact as others have said right next to the Poly/TTC. From there you can go wherever you like!

Cheers for the help so far guys, but I certainly hope I don't have to get to TTC or DTD every single morning!

That's fine for MK or perhaps Epcot, but when you wish to get there bright and early, busy bus transfers are like pulling teeth!

Not necessarily, but it's your best bet. You sort of CAN be dropped off at each park, provided the parking CM believes you are just being 'dropped off'. EPCOTS drop off is towards the front left of the parking lot, MGMs is just before the bus area (handicapped parking area), Animal Kingdoms is passed the butterfly lot and MKs is the TTC (or the contemporary works too). Most of the time you shouldn't have a problem, but if a CM at parking doesn't believe you, you may get a bit of a hassle.

Ah right, will have to practise my best :D face then!

From what I recall, don't they give you a parking slip for payment identification anway?
Yeah, but Cast Members and such don't get them when we park. We just show our ID and they wave us through.

I would reccomend Drop off at the Boardwalk for Epcot and MGM, at Fort Wilderness for the Magic Kingdom (take the back road in), and Animal Kingdom Lodge for Animal Kingdom. That's if you want to avoid the toll plazas completely. Downtown and the Water parks require additional bus transfers.

I've gone to the toll plazas several times and told the CM's where I was going (Fort Wilderness, Downtown Disney-missed my turn) and they just waved me on through after telling me which lane to get in and how to get there. So, I'm assuming that it's not really that big of a deal.

Or maybe I was just lucky those times.

Whilst I'm here, how long is the walk between Studios and Epcot's Boardwalk entrance, and is their a boat, or has my memory invented that?
There is a boat. And I think the walk is about 20 minutes....give or take a half hour. :veryconfu

if they are dropping you off then they have to pay $7.00 or something like that then they dont have to pay when thy pick you up. this has happened to my family when me my sister and cousin went to MGM the CM at the booth said we had to pay $7.00 and then when we get picked up its ok coz we had already paid but we went home during the day and when we returned at night he asked my dad how do you spell mickey and if he got it right we could go through. we where in the back going in a quiet voice M-I-C-K-E-Y.

The walk should take you about a half hour or so. I walked from the Beach Club to MGM in that time. There is a boat you can take that makes stops at all the hotels in that area (Swan, Dolphin, BC, YC) :)

every park has a kennel. go up and say that you are going to the kennel and then drop them off. When you come back say it again and they will let you through.
