Drinks on the ship

I'm not too much of a drinker. It's unhealthy. But I've turned 21, and on the cruise I go on, I plan on cutting loose a bit. Me, hating the taste of beer, am wondering what their mixed drinks are like on the ship. They have some good bartenders? Any interesting or fun things?

Also, somewhat related. How are the bars at the Disney resorts?

I also hate the taste of beer. (People usually look at me like I"m an alien when I say that.) I'm not much of a drinker. My wife drinks mostly wine (and red wine has been shown to actually be healthy in moderation!), but will occasionally get a mixed drink onboard.

It seems to me that it's kind of hit or miss on whether she really likes the drink or not. She'll get a great mojito, but then just a so-so manhattan, or whatever.

They all taste gross to me, to be honest. I spend my time at the soda bar (it's cheaper, too!) :)

Q: What are the first two words you'll hear when you board the ship?

A: Welcome Aboard!

Q: What are the second two words you'll hear when you board the ship?

A: Bahama Mama!

Go ahead and get the Bahama Mama. That's a good start. If you're not a big drinker now, I'd stick with the fruity drinks they sell at the deck socials. Otherwise, trust the bartender. You may want to take it easy as well. My DW is not a drinker, and she lost half a day not feeling well after a few dinner drinks. Then again, maybe she just wanted to sleep in while the kids and I biked around Castaway Cay.

I agree, not much of a drinker either. You can always ask the bartender to go light on the alcohol if you don't like the taste.

I myself am not much of a drinker, and I am very much looking forward to relaxing on the Dream with a drink in hand in April. I'm more of a beer and vodka and club girl, but I decided this trip I am going to be adventurous and try new things. So that is what I think you should do! Relax and give something new a try every day. Do you know you can sign up for Champange tastings and mixology classes when you board? They are reasonably priced and you get a good amount of alcohol for your money! Enjoy!

Re :

It is better to drink wine, whisky etc other than beer.Even i do not like the tast of beer it is like bitter in the taste. So whenever i go on the Cruise me and my husband prefer to have wine. The experience of going in the cruise is amazing.
